Yet the main lesbian couple fall for the exact same reason? Mariel focuses on herself to be "stronger" for Mica and their relationship, yet the Creator chooses to make Mica so petty and self-destructive? They still loved each other and Mariel made amazing strides but Creator chose to make Mica so angry that she was put to the side while Mariel grow the courage to come out and present Mica to her family, only for Mica to give her the middle finger and just walk off? Johnny was a decent character, after self-devolpment, but it feels like the other characters were brushed to the side. As a series that was made to focus on four characters, it still feels like the others got the worse end of the deal. Just feels like the Creator half-assed the rest of the series.

I actually enjoyed the series. Yeah, man is not confident at all, but he actually develops some semblance of a spine after understand that he can actually be an attractive person. It is teenage drama, it’s gonna be somewhat cringe, so yeah, he is cringeworthy reasonably. Spoilers for the latter end of the Webtoon: -he actually gets a ginger tomboy gf after developing his confidence, mad respect- This review was funny! This is the first gif I watched of yours. Personally I really liked it. I think the first... season(???), was the weakest and didn't care for it much. It wasn't until some later story lines that I began to enjoy the stort and main character after he develops some.

As someone who has read this webtoon in it's entirety, I actually really enjoyed how it played out. You have to keep in mind that the story is set in highschool where everyone is awkward, and it is a coming of age story. The webtoon focuses on a lot of internal struggles and the four main character's problems. Even Micaela, who isn't even a main character according to the author (The Four of Them being Johnny, Gaby, Mariel and Martina), she turns out as a better person as well. It's honestly a really beautiful story, even though it is DEFINITELY very long and it takes, I'd say, around 15-20 chapters for the story to really get up off of it's feet, I think that I could honestly recommend just about anyone this story. It's very relatable in lots of ways and it made me feel for the characters quite a bit, because eventually they felt so real as opposed to how they felt pretty 2D at the start of the story. I mean who can forget Johnny's outburst in front of the whole class about needing a girlfriend, lmao. But it goes in directions you wouldn't expect it to and showcases a lot of REAL issues and feelings. Also I'm sure you know this but the story isn't even really about Micaela and Mariel's relationship, it's just a sort of kickstart for the plot and Johnny's character development. Although it IS definitely a huge plot device for Mariel's eventual character development down the line. This isn't me ragging on you for your opinion, because everyone is entitled, and obviously once again it's a long read with very long chapters so I don't expect you to suddenly turn around and read the entire thing. The point I wanted to make though is that without really reading it and seeing more of the story and characters, I think comparing this to something like Boyfriends is absolutely criminal, lmao. I mean everyone knows Boyfriends is dogshit but The Four of Them is a genuine story that isn't stereotypical or weird or fetishizing like that pile of trash is. That's all though, I thought your commentary for this was funny though lmaoo especially the bits about Micaela.

I like that Webtoon though. It's slow, but it's mostly about character development. The change is slow but it helps to make it more natural. It's honestly pretty good written. Jonathan is pretty annoying in the first season, but he gets less self centered and more supportive as the series goes on. Him being kinda of a annoying incel makes his journey into a normal guy way more impactful. It's like watching one of these massive weight loss, where you can't even recognize the person, but it's still them. But yeah, the first season is one of the weakest and Michaela ends up with the least development, one of the reasons why I think she is kinda annoying.

I loved the series. The whole time I was rooting for Johnny and Mikaela as characters. Johnny was a great dude that gof fked over by his bitch of a sister. I watched the four of them because of chalupa and the series was actually pretty good the only problem I had with it was the creator trying to make it serem like Micaela is better than Jonathon which would easily make a sibling hate their sibling but when you read further you realize that they have a normal sibling relationship meaning the creator just wanted you to hate mica and I did ofcourse because that was what was being presented. I was also mad that mica stole his crush and the way it was presented made it seem like Micaela only got with Mariel to spite jon which also made me mad. So for half the series I was just mad they mica a Mari were together while my boy jon was maidenless. But reading through the series i began to be more and more comfortable with the idea of them being together but literally two chapters after I came to terms with it they broke up and never got back together for the rest of the series which is bs and made me so mad
