Soothing, steady and precise. Moral, ethical AND super successful - Chamath Palihapitiya is a rare bird indeed. I am intrigued as to how well he will do in the political mud wrestle though. Perhaps he said it best himself and he may well be 'THE person, at THE moment in time' for Governor of California. At a time when the left is bereft and the right wants a fight and the folks in the middle are tired and hungry - are Cali voters primed now to lead the revolution against more rudderless failure of governance ad nauseam? Could a successful recall of Newsom provide Californians with the opportunity to turn their franchise around? Maybe the people could finally unite behind a modern independent, a centrist and steady hand who heralds the ideas of money in the hands of consumers not big corp, regulation of big-tech-reach and more capitalism not less, but guided by a policy-strong political class that stays out of the road of innovation and competition. Chamath could really change the game at the wheel of the 5th largest economy in the world - but - does he have enough street fighter mongrel aggression in him to defeat the vicious machine that protects the status quo? 1.2M and counting...

It’s refreshing to hear a successful capitalist speak frankly and clearly about certain sectors of our economy; namely: healthcare and education. Both markets operate under the monopolistic laws and with a good deal of rationing so as to make sure demand is always ahead of supply. In fact, they are de facto luxury goods with huge profit margins and therefore only the wealthy can have access to both good education and healthcare. Lastly, his assertion on the effectiveness of Trickle Down Economics is absolutely right - its impact simply is a myth.
