Mike is The Man! Not only is he a great mechanic on these old outboards, he is a genuinely nice guy. I met him when I dropped my 1966 Johnson 9 1/2 off to him for gear box seals. He helped me out through messaging when I had a little problem while rebuilding my ignition system myself. Don't know what I would have done without him.

I was wondering about the power head gasket I didn't see you replace it

Thanks for the video, T-Mike. I have a 58 5.5 Evinrude Fisherman, and a 54 Johnson Seahorse 5.5. The Johnson works good, but the Evinrude needs some love. It may be obvious to some, but I did not see you use a gasket on the power-head. Does it not need one? Also, have you ever repaired one of the old 2 line pressure gas tanks? Keep up the good work.

The gasket was stuck to the powerhead and o do not repair 2 line gas tanks. Thx

Nice job T-Mike. Question, when you have the powerhead off, would you go ahead and change the powerhead gasket? Thanks again.

Not unless it is damaged.

Keep up the great videos and thank you for sharing all of your knowledge to us the people that wanna put the older motors back out on the water some day! Have a good day

My brother moved to Oregon for a while years ago. The folks there considered catfish trash. Threw them back...until he showed them how to season them and fry them. Now they are big fans of catfish! Beautiful country up there.@@RN67POST
