When I was 16, I took a creative writing class in High School. I loved it. I told my teacher that I wanted to be a writer. He said, "Choose a different career. You don't have the aptitude for writing." I was sad, and followed his advice, until I reached age 45. Then I started to write. I've written nine books and publish seven of them. My spirit wants to write words that inspire others, make them laugh and cry and lift them up. I have more books inside of me, and I will write them. My best work comes when I am tuned into my spirit and the words flow like pure notes of music.

When my children were young I decided to accept a long commute to the office so that we could live in a more affordable town and my wife could stay home with the kids. While on the commuter train I wrote song lyrics, and in spare moments at home I would pull out my guitar and write music to the lyrics I liked best. When I got done paying college tuition for my kids, I started renting studio time and recording the songs with a friend who plays drums, bass, keyboards and percussion for me and finds me other musicians to do backup singing or play horn parts. I now have songs up on Spotify, Apple Music, KZbin Music etc and 80 professionally produced songs on my website. I'm still paying the bills with my job, which I still enjoy, and also having a ball as an amateur songwriter.

I've just turned 70. I'm a writer, I travel, I have no responsibility to anyone but myself and money in the bank. In the last decades I've spent a lot of time trying out different occupations, different lifestyles. I was a stand up comic for a while! I also drove taxis (I love driving) and cooked in an up market bed and breakfast. I've come to the conclusion that it's not what you do, it's how you do it. The purpose of life is joy, and joy is everywhere. There's joy in washing the dishes - the warm water, the scent of the detergent, the clean dishes afrerwards. Now I live my life with joy.

JaneNewAuthor That's freedom! 👍😊 I've been writing since I can remember! Before primary school! I so much wish to publish a book, or more!! How did you start? I just can't find the peace and 'right', time nor enough time to do so... Also, I have a lot of ideas jotted down, and subjects I would want to put down on paper, as short true stories, or so. Is just one subject better... ? So many writers write many books that follow each other up on only one sole subject.. The last sentence of you reminds me of Thich Nhat Than's quotes and thoughts. A Vietnamese monk who fled his country and settled in France. 🙏🌟🤍 Founded the plum villages. Passed on 22nd January 2022. 🙏💝 Have a good life of joy! 🤗

My daughter Laura died at age 32 in 2019. So for her mid-life was age 16. Laura developed rheumatoid arthritis at age 4 along with an eye condition which resulted in almost total blindness. At the end, she could only see a small spot on the right side of her right eye. Along the way, just before “middle age” she developed an increasing amount of autoimmune disorders and had to take an increasing amount of harsh immune-suppressing medicines. She knew, at middle age she knew, she was living on borrowed time. She knew that she was alive because of the doctors and nurses and the scientists that advanced her life. Laura told me one day, “Mom, I won’t live passed age 40”. After a second, I shakily said, “Well, you’d better do all that you want to do then”. I was the only one she shared this with and since she had always been well attuned to her body, I believed her. We stopped worrying about stupid stuff. We made sure to say “I’m sorry” and “I love you” a lot. We appreciated everyday we had. We took nothing for granted. So, LIVE your life, take time to just BE, and above all be KIND. 💕🐝💕🇺🇸 She was amazing and at her Celebration of Life service many people talked about how she left an impact and how they changed because of her. One month before Laura died, she spoke at my Mom’s funeral and ended by reminding the family to BE KIND. We lost a total of 6 family members over the next 2 years.

I practiced medicine for 41 years. Twenty nine years in the emergency department. I thought I knew what life was about until I lost the most important person in my life. A person for whom I would have gladly given my life. After my wife passed away, strange things started to happen around the house that I couldn't scientifically explain. Family and friends asked to write them down so they could read them. It made me relive our life. I was amazed at the amount of synchronicity in our lives. The number was phenomenal. Without just one of them, this life would never have been lived or told. It became a book called "A Random Life?" This our story.

Last night I realized that after my friend of several years conspired against me - in high school - for reasons that were unknown to me - she actually did a huge favor for me. Rather than defend my place there, I moved away to another school district for my senior year of high school which resulted in me choosing to go to university - which I never would have done if I had lived in that other little town - where the teens get married and have babies. The trajectory of my life completely changed because she chose to be cruel to me - which resulted in me walking away and creating a completely different life experience and a very different awareness of myself and my world.

Whenever I am able to "retire," if I am fortunate enough to ever do so, I will travel the countryside of Spain & learn to play guitar, all styles of guitar to be found in Spain but most significantly, flamenco. I was a hostage when I was 17, and after surviving it, I had a choice, either make into a comedy or tragedy. I chose Comedy, of course. In my mind I completely rewrote what happened to me as a gift. I found golden nuggets and began a different life with a different meaning. To this day I believe that was a true gift from God. Who I have become is beyond my wildest dreams. I used it to catapult myself into a new version away from a usual victim mentality and story. And it is all due to that horrific event. Thank you God. 😊

What if The tragedy was written/you created it/God/the Devil/ whatever the initiation precedes the thing. Low precedes high. Tragedy preceded comedy. Comedy is ironic. Wow, just ... Wow I am 70 y/o ... For most of my life, I wanted to make pretty things ... as a single working mother, I only snatched pieces of time creating this'n'that ... now, the most valuable thing I have is time ... and I spend most of it playing and making pretty things ... I experience synchronicity often and think about writing my story but wonder if it matters or if anyone would care ... I do not fear death, however I do fear the idea of pain ... But while I am still healthy enough, I am my own best company, I care less about what anyone thinks of me, and I have moments of what I call "unexplainable happiness" ... I look for joy and beauty, I practice the art of gratitude, and my time is full of noticing (and creating) pretty things ... thank you for the inspiring, validating video

Have seen Stranger Than Fiction multiple times, never thought of it this way. Will probably never watch it the same again… The fact that we all know we’re going to die is exactly what gives life meaning. The stakes of that don’t take on any real bearing until we get close enough. Most wait until it’s too late, which is why so many people start to change after a near-death experience

I've come to realize that our whole lives, including our mistakes and sufferings were necessary for growth, everything seems to be perfectly aligned. Meaning is life itself, nothing in life is truly meaningless, not even a repetitive job, it's necessary for that beautiful life-story arch when the hero realizes time is ticking 🕰and decides to do everything he always wanted to...

This has been my favourite movie since the first time I saw it. It's one thing to see the comedy watching Harold's life unfold. It's another to realize that each of us is a Harold. Judging by the comments here and in modern life at large, my love of the movie is justified, and this video is very timely. Nicely done. As a footnote, from Wikipedia: "Helm named each of the film's chief characters after a famous scientist or scientifically influential artist, examples including Crick, Pascal, Eiffel, Escher, and Hilbert. When the character of Dr. Hilbert tells Harold that he has devised a series of 23 questions in order to investigate the narrator, it is a playful reference to Hilbert's 23 problems. The film's title derives from a quote by Lord Byron: "Tis strange-but true; for truth is always strange, Stranger than fiction". According to Helm, one of the film's major themes is of interconnectivity. Helm stated "Each of these characters ends up doing little things to save one another. There's an underlying theme that the things we take most for granted are often the ones that make life worth living and actually keep us alive."

At the end if you think about it , the metaphor of the man that consciously dies took my mind to jesus , socrates and other great men that realized there is no death and by that they ve transcend it. It was like the resurrection of Christ.

I needed to see this far more than I could ever explain in a comment. Jung has been a major influence in my life, both during college and after, and my spiritual journeys taught me to embrace synchronicity as a sign that I'm heading the right direction. I'm now 38, and for the first time in my life, I live alone. I've lost the love I thought I'd keep forever to circumstances I can't explain or understand, and for the entirety of this relationship the synchronicity that used to guide me has been completely nonexistent. I've known the entire time that something was wrong, but I couldn't put my finger on it.. and now I see that this wasn't so much a loss as it was another step, and there will be many more. Thank you for making this video. You yourself are synchronicity to me, and this couldn't have been timed any better. May we all find meaning and purpose as you have.

I can't even tell you how eerily meaningful this video was for me. I have always loved this movie. I soaked it up, marveling at its depth, complexities and underlying themes of spirituality and the human condition. I've been going through a serious spiritual crisis for several months with no resolution in sight. For some reason (and now I know why) I've been thinking about this movie for the last few days, really wanting to re-watch it. Then your video pops up. That was synchronicity #1. Then, in watching the video, the synchronicities piled up one after the other! It ended up like a 4th wall break inside of a 4th wall break, providing answers or angles or things I could do to get me out of this pit I find myself in. I know that thousands of people will relate to this video or find it helpful in some way, but to me, it just seems inarguable that it was tailor-made specifically for me, specifically for my dilemma at the specific time I needed to hear it. You, my friend, are a conduit. Don't ever let anyone even begin to imply that you're not! I'm blown away!

Very nicely put together. I had set out to watch the movie years back with a group of friends but something had come up and we were unable to continue after the first 20 mins. And I never got around to watching it again though I had meant to initially. But 16 years later, here we are: your short summary, narration, and surrounding commentary were excellent. And about as meaningful an activity as watching the whole movie might have been.

Wow! Wonderful story. It has given me great heart. I consider this a synchronicity to my life at this moment. My husband died in 2017 with multiple medical issues but cancer did it. His two daughters abandoned me and there was a challenge to the will. The cruelty, hard hearted ness and spite was so hard to bear. Further more a litigation which included the lawyer who prepared the will 20years ago showed that he was a bully. This was nearly four years in process. In the end the daughters said I could have half the value of the house if I paid everyone’s lawyers costs. This was so harsh that it was difficult to accept. I realised that I could not continue to compromise myself financially so I complied. What I learnt was that I would hold fast to my values of kindness, respect, truth and love. I battled my doubts, fears and anguish. I was internalising my anger and disappointment and I ended up with osteoarthritis in my joints. I learnt to forgive myself and the other parties. The house was sold but I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to provide for myself a house to live in. I have been house sitting for 15 months and met lovely people and been healed while caring for their pets. I have been pushing through to new levels of trust and belief of a power greater than myself who loves and accepts me. In late June while preparing a fire I found an ad for a over 50s village in a nearby town. It wasn’t one I ever thought I would live in but I thought I needed to have an open mind. I had a friend who lived there that I had not seen for awhile and it turned out she was only five minutes away from this village. She invited me for lunch and asked if she could come with me. When I arrived at her house it was 11:11. I was getting this time several times before this. I had arrived at the right time as the salesman told me that in the following month the price of the apartment would be 10k more. Further to that because the community centre was not finished I would have reduced weekly fees. The apartment was still being build but was in a excellent position. At the office he tells me that the name of the street is called Sanctuary Lane! I burst into tears as I had a massage practice called the Sanctuary for ten years and were the happiest times of my professional life. He asked me what letter did I want for my apartment which was due to be finished in November. Perfect timing . My investments matured on Nov 19th and my birthday was the 28th November so the salesman said oh it should be B for birthday. Laughter. So to buy was put into motion. I could not believe that this was happening but so right. I felt a peace and sense that I would be very happy there. The next day the salesman sent me an email saying he had done a search for the settlement date which he did not expect to be through. It was my birthday 28th November. Many emotions. Relief, joy, awed, please pinch me if this is real. It is.

I must say that your videos (or short documentaries ❤️) are hidden gems in the infinite universe of futilities of YT. Not only in content but also in form and meaning. After 20 years everything's both a challenge and an adventure, and I'm glad I took the risks that I did, as this was a 'do it, or lose it' point in my life. This is quite the synchronicity for me.. and exactly the sort of transition I believe I'm going through right now! Just the other day, I began read Edward Edinger's Ego and Archetype and in the first chapter on inflation, and despite already knowing this to a large degree, it clarified for my understanding that I had my identity built around finding something - someone - who would give me access to that sense of wholeness and purpose I only ever found in relationships. I was compensating for a lack of self worth. Reading that chapter immediately released a tension I've been carrying for a number of years now and I got the feeling I had finally let go of that old identity and could move forward. Not the first time your videos have helped inspire and galvanize my intuition. Thanks again Elson! 🙏😉

@@ModernIntuitionist Thank you! I greatly appreciate that, and I appreciate the wisdom you bring us, which I try to share with my fellows, as I believe wisdom is meant to reach all corners of the Earth. Even so, I never deny the opportunity for anyone to come across it, as at times we are the recipient, at others we are the vessel. I know you can do it! Just don't be too critical of yourself and believe that you will get better with time. Also, try to start singing while playing as soon as possible, and write simple songs with just three or four chords. I struggled for years to get past writers' block even when I could play guitar pretty well by that time. Then I finally started to appreciate simple old country songs with their simple open "cowboy" chords, and viola - all of a sudden music really started to make sense. Remember, limitations inspire creativity, whereas endless options often lead to indecision and listlessness and drifting nowhere. Pick a few simple chords, pick a topic or song title, and write something crummy as if you had a school deadline and it was due the next day. This helped me a lot, and I need to remember the lesson again.

Throughout these 3 months ive spent there. i always noticed the whiteboard hung on the wall. i always kinda ignored what was written on that but i knew it a cue card. There have been numerous times that i've visited that room for my speaking. Finnaly, after my speaking is now done. A call from my friend from institute rang. During our converstation He asked me about the Cue card. At that moment i felt somthing strange. It was the same Cue Card that had preceved my Eyes the entire 3 months ...

Very eye opening! After years of growing up, feeling like I was in the shadows of my family, I am finally creating a life that I truly am passionate about I really love Dance. I have no interest in being a teacher but I enjoy being a student very much and progressing my skills. The next step for me is traveling to different locations to take workshops and classes from other studios. I’d also love to partake in some performances just to get a taste of what it’s like to be in the spotlight I’ve also been building a personal development brand for five years now. I’ve been wanting to give up, as it seems like everyone loves to look, but not actually purchase. But I’m getting the hang of branding and marketing and won’t give up on my dream. I really love helping women find their confidence and find love with good men. That really means the world to me to be able to provide those services and I am staying hopeful that it will be a lucrative path for me someday

This video was so good I had to watch it twice this morning 😊 Great reminder.. Sometimes it’s easy to forget in our day to day lives that we’re here only temporarily and that we ought to make the most of it. I’ll have to watch Stranger Than Fiction, thanks!

I'm on my way to be "awakened" now. I'm starting to realize who I truly AM, and that's amazing! I had (like all people in this world) my dark nights of the soul, but now I have found my light. It's videos like yours that help me awake, and I cannot thank you all more! Thank you for the reminder too, that I will "die" and so I need to be as joyful as I could be in every moment. Knowing who I AM, and knowing that life is "merely" a game. Sending you love and light -your new subscriber: Ayu, Jakarta, Indonesia. ⏰❤🌟

⏰ Thank you, I really needed this message today. There's so many things I want to learn and do and I keep postponing them because I let my external circumstances and my fears take over me, so I end up no doing anything at all. As someone that dreamed once upon a time of writing books I think I should start by rewriting my own life story and stop procrastinating on my dreams. Like always your videos come into my life when I need them the most. Thank you. 😊💖

Thank you Moon for always being here and showing love and support. I see a lot of myself in your comment, as I also struggled with procrastination for years, and had to learn to be kinder to myself. Many of my own heroes like Leonardo Da Vinci also struggled with perfectionism and procrastination. May you write and re-write many beautiful books and stories, including your own. Big love to you and yours my friend

😂😂😂😢😢😢 I was watching a music video on KZbin 2 weeks ago, on my laptop, but I didn't close the tab. The suggested videos at the end of the video were two of your videos: 1. reading your incredible true stories of synchronicity (the thumbnail reads -> what you seek is seeking you) 2. the game you didn't know you were playing (the thumbnail reads-> why you feel stuck) Thirty minutes before I watched this video, (on my phone), KZbin had recommended the second video mentioned above, I clicked on it- watched it for a few seconds then closed it and moved on to watch some funny shorts. Then this video was recommended. I guess the universe or God has been trying to send me a sign- for the past two weeks, it seems. Just wow 🤯🤯🤯. Thank you so much for the work and effort you put in this video. Be blessed.

Elizabeth Gilbert, author of "Eat, Pray, Love," wrote in her book "Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear" about how she wrote a story and then met another writer, Ann Patchett, and learned that Patchett was writing a book with almost the exact same story. Worth reading.

🕒 This may be my favorite video you've created. Yesterday, I began watching your video, but had to stop before Part II. I'm so glad I didn't hear how the movie ends, because I watched it last night. What a beautiful story and philosophical film. I came back to finish this video you created with your insightful observations and thoughts. In 2001, I quit my corporate job to start a home business with my husband. My daughter no longer needed to be in daycare. We has less stress and more time. I followed my lifelong passion to write, and began submitting my stories. I also got work writing for magazines. My inspiration? The lives cut short on September 11, 2001. Just another beautiful day, in New York City, until... In 2020, my husband nearly died from a stroke. We feel so fortunate he's alive. So the ending of Stranger Than Fiction got me teary-eyed. So, yes, we can have tragic experiences, but it's how we choose to face challenges that gives our lives meaning.

🕰️ Wow, Boy! 🤯 this video truly resonated with me! It's a perfect example of synchronicity, as I've been contemplating my own life story and its conclusion. The emotions it evoked were powerful - chills, shivers, and tears filled my eyes. Thank you for this inspiring and thought-provoking content. I'll need some time to process and reflect on its impact.

At 40, I realized all the doodling I’d been doing while I raised kids and worked menial jobs had turned into pretty decent artistic skills. On my 41st birthday I saw a gallery’s call for artists online and entered it on a complete whim. The next day I got an email accepting me as featured artist of the month in the gallery! Because of this, my new personal policy is to chase down opportunities and accept every single one that comes along - and figure out the logistics later. As a young person I wanted to draw pictures and cash checks. That dream was abandoned, but only temporarily, because here I am decades later- living my dream life.

For years I've been at peace with my knowledge I can stop living at any time, and recently I have decided to just do whatever I feel like doing because if I'm dying soon I'm at least trying to live as I should have all along. And I hate I came across this today, because I've watched this before and I had never realised irony

Talking about synchronicity: I watched the trailer of this movie years ago, but then I forgot the title of the movie and I could never recall It....I only remembered the idea of someone narrating someone else's life.....since now. Blessings for having realized this video

Wow... i am just now discovering this channel... These videos and content are hitting home hard... So true. I know it is. Have thought this way my whole life and when he talks about losing these thoughts/feelings over time and realizing this in the mid 30's, it happened to me around 40... My entire identity has been one thing cause i chose at a young age to pursue a "normal, better way of living" and now, all i want is to go after my youthful dreams...

⏰ I'm 45 and was in an unhappy marriage for many years. My first words as a child were, "Im free, I'm free." Marriage never resonated with me. I did it for him and my family. I decided last summer to follow my personal truth and set the intention of being a sovereign soul. I moved to Colorado, enrolled in a grad school program working with therapy dogs, Im writing children's books! These were all my childhood dreams. I no longer live a life of regret compromising my dreams so everyone else can be happy. I left my marriage. He is now happy with a better suited partner and I'm free, I'm free!! I'm so full of joy and gratitude. Life is something to surrender to and flow with. When you know yourself, accept and trust that you are meant to live your life as a unique expression of the all, and you trust there is something greater going in that needs YOU. That's when all kinds of magic begins to unfold for you. 💫
