That’s why you keep it simple 125, 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 185, 195, 205, 265 Adding one weight class or 2 helps keep it safe for the fighters and gives other fighters a chance to fight at a weight class that works for them, it’s also a good thing for the UFC since it gives way for more fighters, more fights, more exciting match ups. Obviously just keep it regulated where it’s a 10 lb increment, one belt for each weight class. The reason boxing is such a mess rn is because of the corruption and the constant addition of new belts (regular and super champions). We obviously know Dana is not like that so it probably won’t have the chance to get out of hand. That’s just my thoughts.

I disagree that the UFC should bring in Muay Thai/kickboxing they should focus on there sport, i think people forget that the UFC is like the WBO,IBF etc… in boxing it’s a league for only that sport. Dana wants the ufc to be like the nfl and nba where it alone is the where the best go and expanding that out to another sports kinda devalues what it means to hold a UFC belt, holding that belt means you are the Ultimate fighter champion and slapping the ufc onto another belt outside MMA also devalues the meaning.

Biggest issue with changing the weight cutting is about 90% of the fighters would have to change divisions. Most of the champions wouldnt make weight for their division. Thats why the ufc would never change that

@@kazuhiramiller1616hear me out, maybe the ‘exciting fighters’ should learn better grappling defense instead of spending their entire career complaining that a high school wrestler could take them down and hold them there indefinitely. Maybe we shouldn’t get rid of like 70% of the sport to make it ‘more exciting’ to people that don’t understand or care what’s going on anyway. This isn’t the NFL. Maybe grapplers get stuck in ‘boring positions’ because ‘exciting strikers’ don’t know how to do literally anything on the ground but hold on tight and hope the ref stands them up. Maybe if strikers did anything other than shell up and complain that they don’t get to just punch a wooden board that lets them, more exciting grappling exchanges could occur.

@@Nameandaddresswithheld you don't get it. Those fighters aren't fun to watch, never have never will be. People love guys like Charles or any of them dagestanis. Why? Because they fights for the finish. They put on a show. Watching Almeida sit on a guy for 15 minutes playing control time isn't effective or fun. Even look at UFC 300, the worst fight, hands down was Sterling's. He didn't attempt to try anything. The greatest fights in UFC history have largely been striking. But you don't need to remove grapping, it is entertaining, just not when the rules allow bums to hold a position and somehow come out on top with 0 damage inflicted.

The best way to fix weight cutting is a very strict 15 lb (maybe even 10 lb) limit of that desired weight. Say Paulo Costa weighs 215 fight day then he’ll forbidden from competing in 185 anymore. Right before they go out to fight you can weigh the fighter and if they’re over the 15 pound limit then they’ll be “banned” from that division(after competing ofc) Adding 165, 175, 195 and or 225, 230 or 235 would make it easier

I get your point about wanting muay thai and kickboxing in the ufc however i equally think there's a good reason why they don't. The audiences who want to watch kickboxing watch glory and muay thai fans typically watch one fc and so i think that the biggest audiences likely wouldn't want to watch a ufc version when all the big names aren't fighting there. These big names probably want to stay in their current promotions as well as they are valued much more by the companies they are under where as in joining the ufc a guy like say haggerty goes from being one of ones biggest fighter to a lower priority behind the mma champs which are bound to be prioritized. As well as this if the ufc takes after one fc i can see them leaning into the more gimmicky mixed rules fights which i know lots of people like but i myself dont and i'm sure some people may agree. I also dont think that it is great for a more established and well known company like the ufc to stray away from a structure which is proven to work very well and as the saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it. With the weigh class things i equally can totally see where your coming from however it is a large change in the infrastructure of the company that would likely result in similar ppv numbers as the majority of viewers are casual fans who just want to watch fights and so such a big change likely isn't as profitable for them. As well as this i think the larger weight gaps in the upper weight classes is misunderstood. As much larger people they have the capability to cut much more weight as their body holds more water and so the proportion of the weight that they have to cut balances out with the smaller guys who hold less water. Finally with the judges part i know i have already said this on a previous video but i really dislike the phrase judges may value xyz more. I agree that that is reality and there's not much we can do but i think the biggest thing we can do to help judges is to make clear they cannot value certain things more and to ensure that they are reminded before each fight night that there is a definitive scoring criteria and that they should be scoring solely off of this. I know it's hard as mma is a subjective sport to judge but equally i feel although people treat it as more subjective than it is in many cases. I know this is a lot but trying to be constructive and overall a great video. I couldn't agree more on the ppv prices bit😂

Exactly the ufc is a mma promotion and if we want to sport to grow we should focus on MMA and not let the ufc be stretched thin building up another sport The ufc is the Ultimate Fighting Championship, it’s to find the best fighter that’s the appeal of MMA knowing that this fighter can beat anyone because there verse in every style.

yeah man, I really miss those Pride FC days where you could knee and kick grounded opponents head. only that it didnt have elbows, now add it and make a complete ruleset. like free vale tudo. elbows allowed, ground knees/kicks allowed. and bam action. :) That would also create a threat to these who exploit rules to their advantage. modern UFC/MMA rules favor grapplers and BJJ guys so much. you know those who just lay and pray all the fight, or lay on the ground waiting in the guard etc

You might have countries e.g. in Europe where the standard of living is similar as in US, but the average paycheck is one third. Why so late event starts? My guess is so that ppl in US can go out on Saturdays and still watch the whole main card after. I'm afraid applying all your changes would make UFC go bankrupt in 2-5 years :)

I think you’re kinda crazy to think the one fc muy Thai fighters will leave for the UFC. One isn’t some secondary promotion, it’s basically the UFC for the east. And the UFC is famous for shitty fighter pay, so they’re probably getting better money at one than the UFC would give them, not to mention one is much nicer to its fighters, giving Angela lee 2 years off for a pregnancy and encouraging respect and honor over the shit talking the UFC makes stars off of. Sure nobody in ONE makes as much as Conor or bones but the average fighter makes more, they have better and more frequent bonuses, and they are arguably just as good a stage to prove yourself as the best fighter in the world, if the UFC started a muy Thai division they’d only get the fighters from Europe, north America, South America, and about a third of Russia, they wouldn’t get rodtang or haggerty
