CHANGING OIL ON CORVETTE WITH DRY SUMP - Easy way!

TO RESET OIL LIFE IN COMPUTER, GOTO COMPUTER LIFE AND HOLD RESET BUTTON… I apologize for not putting any information on the Filter and type of oil I use. I found there to be a lot of controversy on the forums in regards to filters and oils so thought it best to leave my opinion out of video. With that said, feel free to let us know what you use…

If you want a stock filter with the relief valve spring here is the part number: ZR1 Filter: AC Delco UPF48R 12694692. You can get a UPF48R with a different part number it will not have the relief valve spring in it. The drain plug rubber gasket part number: Dorman 97119. It doesn’t have to be replaced every time but nice to have two on hand in case it’s needed. Once the engine gets up to temp shut down the motor and then you have to wait 5-7 minutes then check for oil level on dip stick, add oil as needed.

I read about this briefly in the forums yesturday. So what does the valve do? Which should I go with? Sorry I know it’s just a filter but want to make sure it’s right.

Good call. Thank you so much for this. 🙏. Just ordered it on Amazon. I’ll drain a little and replace with this one. I’ve been so confused on filters since GM changed the original filter the pf64. This helped so much 🤙👍 and they have changed the upf48 sounds like too 🥴🤦‍♂️

I may try the KN next go. I switched the filter I used in video after reading a couple forum post and ordered a Delco Gold I think. Why I didn’t add filter used in video. So I’m going to have to drain a couple quarts and re pour in. But rather have a good one. I’ve seen a couple good things on forums about the KN. I may switch to it next oil change.

You can get even more of the old oil out of the system by unbolting the two oil lines from the oil pan. There is at least 1/2 a quart of oil still in the lines that does not drain. But you will need to add about 11 quarts total back in.

This is true! I always do it on my 13’ grand sport, it takes about 11.5 when I do this

What do you about amsoil is it the best motor oil the signature series Is it better than the rest like mobil 1 pennzoil ultra and Castrol royal purple

Yeah the only thing that's considered better than AMSOIL signature series is Quaker State Fully Synthetic 5w30.

How often do you change your oil ? Every 3k or less ?

Well I only put 2k miles on car a year. So I go more off time. I do about every 10 months.

I'm sure with good synthetic you could do 5k.
