3:06 I hate when people laugh at events like this, as if it was very easy to march in a coordinated way and with a slippery floor, they lack a lot of judgment and should admire their work as royal guards with respect and pride and not with laughter at almost falling. I also include the minute 4:03 as if coughing was an act that none of those people do, why are they laughing, I do not understand, better be quiet and observe how wonderful the guards are.

If the USA's very own Old Guard were to be selected, what would happen?

I don't think that would ever happen, one because America isn't part of the commonwealth or two the old guard isn't part of the British armed force, and I believe only British and Commonwealth troops guard our Queen.

The English have more dignity in a simple changing guards ( if there is anything like a simple changing guard ), then the German in a great Zapfenstreich. I say this as a German. Though the Bundeswehr has very good musicians too, the English manage to walk to Mozart and appear as professional soldiers. The only advance the Bundeswehr has to the English army is, that they grew a lot more peacefull after ww2.
@surengrigorian7888 Жыл бұрын
The English have enough people proud of their country. Be proud of yours for a change. Perhaps if they were more keen on that than on being peaceful, their ceremonies might be considerably better. As for the Großer Zapfenstreich, the torchlit aspect of the ceremony is beautiful. And no one writes marches better than the Germans. Mozart, after all, was Austrian German…

He's leaning up against the wall because there's a huge crowd and this way he takes less space. He has the hood on because it's raining a bit. Why is he a rat again?

@t10god7 жыл бұрын
The black puffy hats that the Queen's Guard are wearing are bearskins, they won them off of the French at the Battle of Waterloo in the Napoleonic War and they are an incredible sign of prestige in the military world, no matter what country you're in. I am not sure of the shiny helmets of the red Royal Guard.

VPagon: The present style of the metal helmet of the Life Guards (formed 1660) dates from 1842.
