Ex-USN bandsman here, I don't know much about the career progression over there but aren't there an abnormally high amount of high ranking enlisted people in that band? Over here the the regular bands could easily have a good number of high ranking folks (and in the special bands everyone starts at a high rank) but I thought rank over there was...I guess harder to get isn't the right way to say it, but it's more rare to see higher ranking enlisted personnel?

If I may add some details to @Ryan note below. If you look at the Band of the Scots Guards seen in this video (or any other Guards band), you'll see that the highest rank among the musicians is Colour Sergeant (or Staff Sergeant elsewhere in the Army). The only exceptions are the Band Sergeant Major (BSM) who is generally a Warrant Officer Class II appointment and the Bandmaster (BM), who until recently would have been a Warrant Officer Class I. Now bandmasters seem to be WOII or even Colour Sergeant. The BSM always plays and the BM plays when needed. The BM is usually on a career path to being commissioned as a Director of Music. In the band we see in this video the BM is in charge today, the Director of Music being occupied elsewhere. I recently happened to see a video of a Norwegian all-arms band (navy,army,air force) and they had officers of Lieutenant and up to LtCommander playing as regular musicians along with the Non-Comm ranks.
