Changing Lanes Hello there again. Question !? I saw another guy who put a Goose Neck on his 5th Wheel. With just a Ball Mount in his truck bed. !? I was wondering what kind of set up you have? And how do you like it. !? Thank you Both for great Videos. ! 👍🇺🇸
@ChangingLanes6 жыл бұрын
We have the Reese 27K hitch (ford branded accessory), and the LCI FlexAir pin box (www.lci1.com/flex-air-pin-box). They've been a good combo. I've seen the Reese goose-box, but that tops out at 20K. Not too fond of anything rated right at the weight of the rig. Prefer some wiggle room as our 20K rig is more like 20,500. 😎 The truck is also a bit more limited with a gooseneck setup as it attaches to a single point on the frame versus 4 points.

Your conversation about the trains brought back memories. My wife and I stayed at a bed and breakfast in Vicksburg, Mississippi once, and there were train tracks right across the street. Adding to the fun was the soil composition in Vicksburg which is called loess. It is volcanic in origin and conducts vibration excellently, so we were not only entertained by trains throughout the night, but we also wondered when the roof was going to collapse on us. There was a notice posted in the room that told us to consider the trains and the vibrations as ambience.

We just cane across your page and started watching a lot of your videos. Love the traveling vlogs. We just picked up our first RV in October and very anxious to take it out. We are looking at staying at Anvil RV park in Williamsburg. Looks to be a nice place. Now we had to laugh, as you can see by my channel name I am into trains. Now you had an issue with trains and my wife looked at me and laughed, cause she hates trains. If we go I will probably be going to your “quiet spot” to get some photos. Thank you again. Look forward to more.

Really like this blast from the past. I was in Norfolk onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 from 1994-1997. We made the best of it there. I can't recall a week where we didn't drive through one of the Tide Water tunnels. That ties into your vid where you went through the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel. I'm from RI and drove that route so many times going back and forth to visit my girlfriend/fiancé. At the time it cost $10. I have a funny story from when I first reported to A school in Damneck, Va. I'll spare you from it. Love your guys content.

I've been to Williamsburg more times than I care to count, as my older sister went to W&M from '83-'87. It wasn't until I took my wife there a few years ago, though, that I fully enjoyed it. It's so beautiful and peaceful around there. We're planning to stay in the Williamsburg area for a month during our first year of full-time RVing in 2020. I will have to try to ensure that we don't stay in the same RV park that you did!

It's not a bad park at all. Just.. the train... I sleep through it fine, but Tara is a bit more sensitive to noise. Suuuper close to all the Colonial stuff though.

Stumbled onto your videos and have really enjoyed binge watching them. So, for the first time ever I have just subscribed. Wife and I camped in Williamsburg a few weeks ago. American Heritage and the KOA are both very nice campgrounds and nowhere near as close to the train tracks. As for the Colonial Parkway, the best way to travel it is by motorcycle but then that applies to just about any road. Wife and I have a GD Momentum 388M with a Harley in the garage. Looking forward to joining you and the rest of the full timers on the road after retirement. Keep the great videos coming and always enjoy the ride.

Working a 0700 PM to 0700 AM shift and was going through Vlogs and came across this one and the First Landing post again. Wound up buying a 2019 Reflection 337 RLS. Live in Newport News VA. You get around these parts again, let me know, I have a 20' CC boat. Take you both out for flounder, striper and/or sharks. Great video and great background music. I was stationed at Fort Monroe Va., when I was in the Army. We loved the area, with so many Historical Places to see. Hampton Roads, Jamestown, Williamsburg and all the Colonial Plantations and the Beaches are beautiful. Fort Monroe has the Civil War Museum, where General Robert E. Lee was in prisoned, which is great to visit. The Fort itself has a lot of spooky underground tunnels and hidden rooms and chambers, that will test the best ghost hunters. But, they're off limits to civilians. Lots of secret stuff went on there. See ya'll later.

Williamsburg offers a discount rate to veterans. You have to ask for it. If you are into history and stuff. Besides Williamsburg Jamestown plantation is a great place to check out. Also go to the other side of peninsula and check out Yorktown. Lots of history between the 3 cities.

Pickup a "Booster Pac ES5000". Mine is now 7 years old and still working fine. Plus they're still only about $120 bucks everywhere online. They'll crank anything. My Cat 416 Backhoe without any other batteries hooked up on a cold morning. And it doesn't just crank it over, it cranks it over fast. I even stopped trying to keep a battery in my tractors (MF135 & 35 diesels). I just use this jump box in it's place, and because of this, I also never have to plug it in the wall. Hood won't quite close, but it's fine.

Wait, you spent ONE DAY in Colonial Williamsburg? We've spent 3 weeks so far, still things to see and do. ProTip: buy an annual pass because a lot of the extra cost things are included and those that aren't included are discounted. Then, go for another visit before your year is up. We've been there 3 seasons so far, still need to visit in fall. The Christmas decoration visit was fantastic (we went right after Thanksgiving). Independence day "grand illumination" was, well, grand. All of our experiences have been great. Glad you rode to Jamestown ... go back during the day, the visitor center is outstanding! I do have a question for you though... why did you stay at the Anvil - isn't there a military campground at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station? Cheatham Annex Recreation Area...

I've stayed there twice. Next to the tracks. Kids loved it but I was nervous about a train derailing (we were tent campers at the time). It is a cute little campground & reasonably priced but sleep will definitely be interrupted if you are a light sleeper.

Yea! Colonial Williamsburg is always best visited when it is a billion degrees outside! The one and only time I visited there and the Mall in DC, it was it was over 100 degrees. Took some of the zeal out of the trip. We want to go back, but next time it will be early spring or early fall.....no more kids living at home so we are no longer required to work around school vacations, aka mid summer! Could never figure out why Florida had summer break...should have been winter when Florida is best!
