There's a trilateral summit between China, Japan and South Korea ... and CNA get experts from Washington, Seoul and Tokyo to discuss the summit issues? How come there isn't an expert in the discussion from Beijing? The USA isn't even in this summit! (Maybe it is ... the "Bye Bye American Pie" guy at the summit, right?) No matter how many trilateral summit they held between - Japan, China and S.Korea... USA will make sure nothing materialized. This is a straight fact. America will lose world hegemon status if countries started to corporate and stop fighting each other. Confrontation and conflicts is a key ingredient in world power politics.
As America goes down to the sunset, it will look less sexy. As China rises gloriously, it will look more sexy. Even Africans can speak Mandarin. The time will come in the near future when South Korea and Japan will wake up with the sunrise.

This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. ... that Japan and the Philippines will be found to be the corner-stones of such a Pacific security system and that if we can contrive to retain effective control over these areas there can be no serious threat to our security from the East within our time. Taiwan was added to the Pacific security system after Chiang's army retreated to the island of Taiwan in 1949. South Korea was added after the Korean War in 1953. These three countries enjoyed peaceful relations and mutually beneficial trade - with few exceptions - for over 2,000 years. And Korea and Japan owe so much of their rich culture to China: Confucianism, meritocracy and civil service exams, silk making, porcelain, architecture, tea, papermaking, 'Zen' Buddhism (actually Chan Buddhism), cuisine staples like noodles, tofu, and soy sauce, and so much more. In short, these next-door neighbors were able to rise yet remain peaceful for millennia; they should not let an agitator from thousands of miles away cause them to fight each other.

The Anglo countries-Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US-get along really well and have formed strong alliances like Five Eyes and AUKUS. On the other hand, there are a lot of conflict between Confucian countries, influenced by Chinese culture. I blame China for it. China does not know how to unite and lead these countries effectively, which would be in its best interest. Instead, China often tries to weaken its neighbours to keep them from becoming strong. For instance, China uses its relationships with North Korea and Cambodia to influence South Korea and Vietnam, conducts military drills to coerce Taiwan, and weaponizes water in the Mekong River to threaten countries like Vietnam. Unless China changes its attitude and becomes a real friend to its Confucian neighbours, nothing will happen.
