My initial reactions when I first started the video, trying to stay one step ahead of you for everything you did: Oh okay, he's going to Green Hill because there's only small animals there. Oh wait, he's skipping all the badniks. Is he ring framing? Oh wait, he's going for special animal- okay, he's quitting after getting one. Okay so I guess he's looking for one specific one per stage? Okay, I guess he's going for the Chao key here because he'll be using Knuckles to raise Chao, and the last animal he needs is in Pumpkin Hill- oop, he's just getting the animal in the third crate in Pumpkin Hill, got it. Oh, is he getting like a Chao Fruit, or a Mushroom or something to help boost stamina? ...Why is he buying five Hero Fruit? WHY IS HE BUYING FIVE MORE HERO FRUIT???

Holy shit, did you really go through the pain of maniping those instant pickups for this TAS? You're a legend. Also, what if you buy half the amount of hero fruits and the other half of dark fruits? Do they even spawn if you're in the garden with Sonic? I have no clue since I only played the chao part extensively on DC and never bothered much about the black market on GC once I got that version.

I did, yep lol. It wasn’t actually that hard and I found a way to do it consistently. And yeah, I definitely need to buy less fruit next time and could optimally pick the dark fruit to save more time. I think sub 40 is very possible

@@brianpso when going frame by frame, there’s a clear change when sonic’s speed drops to a certain range and his animation changes. That’s the frame I pick up. It works speeding up or slowing down, but I’m more consistent with him slowing down by neutral sticking
