Knightmare Games produce a diverse range of science fiction and fantasy miniatures inspired by the artistic style of 1980's wargames and have provided me with a set of miniatures for review.

Hello everybody, Knightmare Guy here ;) Thanks a lot for the video and for the kind words, I'm very glad you liked them. This Chaos Raiders was sculpted mostly by no other than Tim Prow and the Missile launcher guy by Kev Adams, I've also made some adjustments to the champion, who's the pincer guy and was sculpted by Christian Af. You can find some of my sculpted models in the range at the Fishmen, Space Minotaurs or the Insectoid previously "unboxed" Here's something that you might find cool to see, this is a sheet with pics of the original sculpts! It is alway something interesting to see, how they were before turning into metal :) You'll find Vego The Returned there too, that miniature is a "fantasy" chaos champion who has been taken through time back and forth many times to fight for his god. img.fenixzone.net/i/pkgZLCV.jpeg

Knightmare's ability to capture the aesthetic of the 80's designs and art while bringing the sculpting up to a more contemporary standard really is a phenomenal thing to see. If you do any more videos featuring them it would be good to see them standing next to some games workshop analogues. Either way, great video and a great look at some beautiful miniatures.

Magos Well put sir, you can tell when a range is done with real passion and respect for the original material, something these models have in abundance. I will be doing a follow on video of these when assembled and I'll do comparisons against my RT World Eaters.

Oooo, I really like those "space raider" minis! They just scream 1st edition 40k Chaos traitor marines, it's like 1988 all over again! I have got to get these sweet new/old figures! Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome mate! They have a real authentic feel, the fact that Tim Prow and Kev Adams did most of the sculpts gives us a strong hint why ;)

Oh wow! That is so cool mate! I kinda had a feeling that I had the wrong artist so it is great to be corrected, and even more so you! The quality on these clearly demonstrates why GWs argument that they had to shift to failcast to make detailed sculpts just falls apart! More detail on these then any finecast kit!

Not thought of it from the perspective, but a point well made. The switch to injection moulding resin by GW AKA Finecast was a purely economic one that they tried to spin as being for the benefit of the customer.... which it wasn't!

Love 'em! My favourite would be the guy with the bolt pistols in his helmet. Cue inspiration for the Mandiblaster? And Raider #3 can be seen on pg. 265

Mordian LVII Ah, so he was in Slaves to Darkness after all, thanks for sharing that. Cheek cannon raider is also a great figure, that helmet is so distincitve. Could be that Mr. Goodwin got the idea for the Striking Scorpion mandiblaster?
