Breaking News - Eddie Tate, Jr. Found

Eddie Tate, Jr. went missing in March of 2021. We were contacted by his family to assist in searching the waterways near KY, WV, and OH. After making two trips to the area and being unable to find the Chevy Cobalt that Eddie went missing in, we promised Ashley that we would be back.
In early July, skeletal remains were found on the bank of the Ohio River in South Point, OH. We were contacted by South Point Police Department to come search for his vehicle in the area. At this time, the remains had not yet been confirmed, but the probability of them being that of Eddie were high.
Today, we received word from Eddie’s sister, Ashley, that through dental records, the remains found were that of Eddie. We will be back to assist in locating the vehicle should they need us.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to Ashley and all those that loved Eddie. While it is never easy to hear that your loved one is gone, we hope that their love and memories can outweigh the grief as they all begin their healing process.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter the "who" locates the missing, it's getting the information out there, getting involved and putting "boots on the ground". Searching comes in many forms, Jacob and Lindsay and all the others in this movement have the special ability to make the waterways reveal their secrets. I am so pleased to hear the LE's are reaching out to you Jacob, seeking your invaluable assistance and education on sonar techniques, they are learning from one of the best. Sorry you got hurt Lindsay, hope it heals quickly. I'm so pleased Mr Tate's family now have some answers and can begin to move forward. My sincere condolences and may Eddie rest in peace.

I'm at Lake Eufaula, Ok. This lake is huge, over 600 miles of shoreline. It breaks my heart that people go missing and end up found in rivers, lakes, ponds, bodies of water. I'm thankful for Choas Divers, Adventures with Purpose and many others have come together on so many of these cold cases. This brings closure to families. Everytime I watch a video I cry because you're able to bring resources to places that budgets are so tight, or there are not trained divers, or any other reason. I cry when you're able to locate the missing person and bring them home to rest in peace. You're efforts, compassion and dedication to the families shines through. Thank you to all of the people who come together in these cases and help to make sure every effort is done with dignity and grace to not only the family, but their loved one who is able to be recovered once found. One of the dog teams that I trained have brought everyone home. Including an Elderly Man with Dementia who wandered away just after lunch last Saturday. He was found 32 hours later by one of the teams I trained. It took 4 teams to bring him out. They made a Travois, and had all 4 dogs drag the Travois out, while one walked beside him holding the IV bag back to where an Air Ambulance could land and take over his care. @@mk1604 Yes it's amazing what a great team of people and animals can do. All the dogs in that team were trained by me as were their handlers. I'm a Retired Paramedic, so I'm also able to teach them how to start an emergency IV to help hydrate people until they can get them out of the bush back to where proper medical help can be given. With this gentleman having Dementia, 2 people walked beside him, one on either side. Constantly reassuring him that everything would be alright and that he was safe. Dogs have worked hand in hand with people for hundreds of years doing a lot of jobs. Just look at the Border Collie, and how they must have a job to do or they become destructive to property. They don't do well in cities, but thrive in country environments where they can do what they were bred to do. Herd sheep or cattle if trained. They are a very smart dog who needs to have its mind kept busy. It's the same with these dogs. Some are hunting dogs, like the Labrador, others are like the Malinois or Rottweiler. All these dogs usually have to have a job to do. So we give them a job and make it a game. They are strong breeds that can carry their own food in backpacks they wear. We carry the water and medical supplies, along with a tent and Military grade packs of food for ourselves that doesn't weigh much at all. In total our pack weigh about 30 pounds each or approximately 13.7 kgs. To make the travois, they used two ground sheets from their tents over 3 sturdy logs, padded it with 3 sleeping bags, put the gentleman in the fourth one, and put ratchet straps around his legs, waist and chest to hold him to the travois, then hooked the 4 harnesses that are in every backpack the dogs carry for just such a scenario, and took him to a meadow 7 miles or 11.3 kms away where an Air Ambulance was waiting for them. He was brought to hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he spent the night for observation and more fluids and released the next day. All of the dogs in the 6 person/dog team, the dogs are also Cadaver trained. Because unfortunately, not all stories have this happy ending. With the high heat we've had this summer in Ontario, we've been very lucky this year so far. But there's still camping in many places and then we have deer season to get through yet as well. Where accidents occur, people panic, and don't report them. Then that's where the horses and dogs come in handy. We can pack quite a bit more with the horse AND dog, than just the dog alone. The dog still carries its own pack with its harness, used for tracking and attaching to a travois, and its own food. Which is usually homemade and dehydrated, so the only thing keeping it from spoiling is Vitamin E, D, A, B complexes and Omega Fatty Acids. And the horse will pull a travois a lot easier. In the saddlebags we carry a collapsible food dish, we always camp by flowing water so both animals can drink and usually there are grasses there for the horse to eat, and we only carry 2 meals for each animal. An evening meal and a breakfast meal, the same for ourselves, 2 meals only, with bottled water for the dog on the trail, we usually use Quarter Horses or Arabian Horses for these searches as they can go to quite a distance without having water, needing only grass to get their moister from. But every stream or creek we do come to, we let them drink their fill. They work hard, and we care about our animals, so when we do stop for a break, we check them over. Looking for any sores or scratches, or even a thorn between the pads of the dog. If they are on a scent, they will totally ignore that pain and focus only on that scent of the person they are looking for. So we have to stop every now and then to give their noses a bit of a break, check them over, and then carry on. Stay Safe and have a great rest of your week. Jenn. 💖

Peace and happy thoughts to Eddie's family. This is a tough one because, Eddie's vehicle could be anywhere in between where he went missing and where he was found. His vehicle will only float so far, he could have floated, out of his vehicle, a very long way. His vehicle may hold the only evidence as to what happened to him that exists. The most important thing is that he has been found and, is no longer missing. I VERY much look forward to you getting out and searching with "Team Watters" soon. They are the VERY best at finding people in the water. 103 and counting.

Yall 2 along with all the others that do this are such a blessing to so many. Families with the longing,hurt, wondering,watching, hoping, heartache,pain,emptiness and unanswered questions that run through their mind is stopped when you guys find their loved ones. Missing and not being found is harder on them than when you find them and bring their remains home. My son was killed in a car wreck when he was 16 and that was and still is hard but I would be a lunatic if he was missing and not found. Their are many angels in heaven and very few that walk among us and I'm thankful and proud to be watching two of them on this video and all the others that search for missing loved ones.
