I made this film as a simulation for people to understand what it can be like to live a day with ADHD. This is to battle the stigma behind it and the best way to do that is with understanding

@@celavetex right. i know how u feel, having adhd is a nightmare , especially when trying to explain how hard it is to focus on certain things and such. trying to explain you ARE trying hard, its just very complicated to stay focussed but still getting the same interruptions of ur parents saying “but you arent trying hard enough” sucks. im sorry you have to go through that man :( good luck bro.

I have the same thing, i can remember like things that you learn at school in general normally by a combination of two problems i may have, but not anything else. I can forget something i am doing or just did easily, and because of my probable ADHD/ aphantasia combination (aphantasia disabling people to remember things with one or more of the five senses ; and me having it "total" i guess) it would be less obvious because it would cancel a few effects; i got in trouble for it a few times now, and starting to think more and more about diagnostising when i can :/ Have a nice day !

Lucky you! My 2 brothers (23y/o and 15y/o) have ADHD and I'm (21y/o girl) still trying to get diagnosed, but I'm certain I have it. I'm also certain my Dad (63y/o) has it, but he's completely unaware and keeps blaming my Mum's genes. He's incredibly hard to talk to about these types of things, doesn't have good knowledge about it, and isn't open minded in the slightest way, which makes it even harder to cope. It really surprises me how he can be so unaware of his OWN self and how he hasn't realised, all these years, that he is slightly different to other people. Did he never notice the barriers/struggles at school? At work? At home? I don't know how he hasn't picked up on it. And worst of all, he has ZERO empathy for us when we just CAN'T help but being the way we are. Forgetful, distracted, etc. Honestly, consider yourself extremely lucky!!

Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏

Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

the chances of him getting depressed and overthinking are pretty high so look for that. give him small tasks so he could get some dopamine dose fixed.and dont make him feel like he is different in a negative way and let him do most of the things his way . if he is missing out on the classes tell him to take pre recorded lectures so he coild rewind if he zones out. and best of luck 🤞 and if you need any help feel free to reach out i would be more than happy to help cuz I've been there when no one tried to understand me and tbh its quite frustrating. peace out ✌️

Or that time when your parents ask you to but something like "buy A, B, and C" and you completely forgot about C and your parents will start yelling at you.

The part where the teacher asks him to focus and it plays over multiple times hit me hard at how accurate that was. You don’t have things play over audibly and visually like the video but that moment of embarrassment plays over and over in your head. Other times when someone is giving you step by step instructions, I play the first step over and over in my head so I won’t forget it, meanwhile I’m not paying attention to the subsequent steps.

@extrapathos

I don't have adhd, but I do have social anxiety, and that part was relatable. I conciously replay interactions in my head all the time, negative and positive, in part to confirm them. Positive interactions I think about for validation like "that went smoothly, good job! or "that was a fun time, now how can we get that more often?" Most of the time I'm replaying negative interactions to review and rationalize them, make sure I have a legit reason to worry about them. Asking myself "will this impact my reputation? Do they think I'm weird? Am I in trouble?" And the answer is usually either "eh, they'll forget about it, they probably didn't even notice" or "oh god I'm fucked." In fact I replay _every_ interaction, firstly assessing whether it's pos or neg. Might have something to do with my ocd as well.

I heard it was different from person to person but honestly speaking, everything here felt accurately portrayed to me. Every stimuli goes in all at once and it becomes hard to focus at one thing, and even if you managed to focus, your mind immediately hops to another thing. But for some reason, doing what you love and enjoy makes you hyperfixate on it and you suddenly get the focus of a magnifying glass... Like WTF brain?! Where'd you get all of this focus all of the sudden?

I try my best to make her comfortable, but she always seems to happy when we hang out so I don’t think I need to do much to help her, as our friendship is enough :) I still try to understand her, so that we can be the supportive figure in eachothers lives, that we never really got. I appreciate this short film? a lot! It brings awareness.

Hey, that's awesome that you're finding ways to correct your behavior around ppl with ADHD! My older brother really set off what's called RSD (rejection sensitive dysphoria) (very common in people with ADHD) when we were younger by constantly picking on me, what I looked like, how sensitive I was, and how he made fun of my fixations. Nobody really knows about RSD, so be sure to look it up as well, as ADHD tends to make us emotionally sensitive because of our learning disabilities and how people perceive us due to them...I think WebMD has a great article on it.

I used to have constant ringing in my ears a few years back but it is much more subtle now, but I am constantly zoning out of conversations thinking about random past situations and I completely miss out on what the person says. It’s like i’m lowering the volume on their voice and the only thing I hear are my loud thoughts and their quiet mumbling in the background.

Nothing hurts more than being told wake up earlier, or make a schedule, or everyone is a little ADHD, or come-on it's an excuse to sell kids pills, or if you can put your mind to that, why not focus on me?. We live a life of constant abuse, and yet we are punished for being us. The issue isn't about understanding, it's about they type of learning you get. We are a different type, you can't expect a dog to climb a tree even if you yell at it.

Exactly. I've been struggling with ADHD alot last year i Faild a class and had to redo exams. It's sad how i get to be seen lazy at studying but very hyperactive like a "monkey". I get such a very short memory, very short span of focusing, and Its difficult for me to go to bed early.. And sometimes i don't get to understand stuff and it's pretty hard to let someone who don't understand understand. Its really sad how WE go through alot and be taken wrong. Whoever has ADHD and Autism, depression, bipolar, PTSD, DID whatsoever, im sorry if yall been taken wrong before.
