Nobody is saying that if you are poor you're going to be a criminal. What he is trying to get across is the crime rate is higher in the poor communities. Affected by fewer fathers in the home, tired mothers trying to play both parents and often working multiple jobs, stressing over just keeping food on the table and a roof over her children's heads, children having more influence from others around them who may not be as good of influences when that single parent can't always be around to police who they are hanging out with or what they are doing, a culture of entitlement thinking they shouldn't have to work, that the government should just dish out everything for them (of course this is not all, or even most, but definitely some), etc. It all intertwines. Count yourself lucky that you grew up in a loving, two-parent home with family who loved you and instilled good values in you. MANY, MANY, MANY people were not so lucky.
@jlcarey13 ай бұрын
And about that last part -- that was literally my experience with a family of WHITE people across the street from me for about 5 years who were poor, entitled drug abusers. Kept popping out babies, neither of them ever worked, got thousands and thousands every month from the government, sold drugs out of their house, their baby stroller, through their kids on their bikes, etc. Partied all hours of the night, even on school nights, introduced their kids to horrible influences, taught them to use vulgar, disgusting language, act like little gangsters, mouth off to the neighbors, etc. Poor, entitled, wannabe gangster is a definite culture where I'm from. I grew up very poor too, but with two parents who loved me, even if they didn't necessarily love each other. I was one of the lucky ones. Those poor kids across the street never had a chance.

Charlie Kirk is absolutely right. I am old enough to remember when most black households were made up of a mother and a father. You are absolutely wrong about black fathers being in prisons and that is why they were not around. In late 1960's and beyond, welfare made it more profitable for black women with children to NOT have a man in the house. The carrot being dangled was to offer more money to single mothers alone. If a man entered the household, or the father was present, the benefits were reduced or stopped. That is when single black motherhood spiked. Welfare is a trap. It offers false security, but just enough to keep you from stepping out from under it and making more money (we still do this with older citizens now and collecting Social Security checks. The government raised the age of retirement based on the expectation of length of life and when the average death age is. The longer you wait to collect, the higher the paycheck, but the better chances you have of never collecting because you will be dead, whereas if young people were encouraged to set up their own strong retirement plans in the prime of their lives, they could afford to retire whenever they felt it was right, not because without working until they are good and old will assure they can maybe live in controlled, low-income housing and need food stamps). When men have no families they feel encouraged to provide for, they turn to other appetites that are not healthy ones. And it is PROVEN that without a man's influence in young men's lives, most will begin adopting things like street gangs to provide that relationship. (An interesting study was done with male elephants that became more aggressive and abusive when there were no older male elephants around to steer them in the right direction). Older men teach younger men how to be a true man who handles his responsibilities with family and to provide and raise his children. Another thing is education. Black people FOUGHT for education in slavery when it was forbidden. It was against the law for slaves to learn to read and write. More blacks did more with elementary school education than they do today graduating from high school. Part of this has to do with the deterioration of education. Schools in mostly black neighborhoods have abysmal grades. Schools actually graduate seniors who still read at elementary school levels! This was NOT the case 60 years ago with blacks, who understood the value of an education and had to fight to get it. Now they will keep passing them on. My mother was from the Dominican Republic, and i remember when public schools decided it was unfair for immigrant children to have lessons in English, so they began bilingual classes. To the white liberal, this sounds so wonderful. It's not! My mother stated that they used to put children behind a year when they immigrated here. The reason was so that they could become fluent in English and then continue with the level they left off with in their native country. They could continue their education stronger. Having children who grew up and graduated and still did not have a handle on English meant we had lots more low-income earners like janitors, maids and fast food workers. The need for immigrant children is to command the language so they can continue on to higher education, higher paying jobs, pursuing their dreams and goals. Please do yourself a favor and read some of the black economists and authors Charlie Kirk mentions, like Thomas Sowell. Even Denzel Washington has spoken many times on the need for black fathers in the home. And MOST black men 60 years ago were NOT in jail. They were working to support themselves and their families.

I agree, but I also agree that fathers not being around because they are in prison. HOWEVER, if the culture in African American communities was different there would be less black fathers in prison. If black men stayed with the women they got pregnant and supported them, they would be out at a job/career instead of running the streets getting into trouble and getting other women pregnant. There is ZERO expectation for black fathers to stay around and support their families. Change that and you solve half of the issues in the inner city. I am an Italian American I grew up in a predominantly black community. I witnessed first hand what changed with the black culture. In the 70’s the welfare laws changed where a woman received more money if they didn’t have a man living in the home. The father then was sleeping in a different household which took away intimacy , that bonding that takes place with couples and the men then would have other women in their lives. The government incentivized the break up of the black family unity . Men usual take on the role of discipline so no discipline no role model and it became the norm not to have a dad in the house and they followed their dad’s footsteps. The girls also seen the lack of commitment and their mothers being okay with it and getting more money in the household with no man in the house. Keep in mind I seen it my friends home first hand. Thanks for reading my comments my opinion. God bless everyone!

Hey white college girl, I know a lot Asian on very friendly terms. 1. A Vietnamese man who arrived in town as a broke 16 years old orphan after the Vietnam War. With the aid of a local benefactor, he was able to start a "hole the wall" seamstress shop, sewing on buttons, hemming up pants sand skirts, replacing broken zippers. Average customer paid $3.00. He put his daughter to college in Chapel Hill. She's now a surgeon. 2. A family of friends who fled Hong Kong before the CCP took over. Carrying everything they own on their backs. They are doing very well now. The son earns a four digit weekly paycheck. The daughter married an ABC who built his own business up; she put herself thru college and and became an accountant. Working awhile for the city of Wilmington. They then put their daught thru collge. She's a doctor. 3. A pare of brother I know who fled the CCP during the early sixties. The had to be smuggled out with only the clothes on their backs. Both served in the USN. Vietnam war fighting Communism. Both retired USN. One then went on to serve and retire from Balitmore police department. 4. My closest friends are also from China. Fuzhou. The immigrated (legally). By now means wealthy upon arrival. Now between they and their children, they own a restuarant in North Carolina, one in Miami, a Chinese Restaurant and a Japanese restaurant in Wrightsville Beach and Chesaeake, Va. A Chasino in NYC, and one of their daughters is a licensed CPA. They are also related to the two brothers who served in Vietnam which I mentioned earlier. 5. A Korean man who fought for the ROK in th Korean war. I worked with son. His son was my boss. When the father died the son gave me his father's leather jacket. The father's statis ipon arrival to our shores i do not know. 6. And finally, my wife. From Lang Qi Island near Fuzho. A delapidated spraling little community. When my wife arrived in America she had one bag of belongings. Now a suitcase, clothe bag. Her sister, and her sister's husband also arrived with Spartan bellongings. 7. Allow me also to mention the little old lady who arrived here after WW2 from Hiroshima, japan. She had married US Marine. She bore physical the scares of the A-Bomb. She ran a laundromat on Railroad st. Her son now owns a restarunt on Main St. Finale: Sure all Asians come over here rich. It's a blantant racist statement to claim that Asians all arrive here wealthy. That's stereotyping and racist.

What a fool! She is lost in the democraps narrative. You have to have a ID to vote in every county in the world. Only the democraps try to get it so you don’t have to identify yourself to vote. Makes sense they also tried to create a governmental department to censor people from printing what they didn’t like. They called it misinformation, and got away with it in a lot of cases. Social media is one example. There they crushed anything conservative and rebuttals against their narrative. Example was IVERMECTIN a medication that has been found to do a lot of good in treating Covid infections. They called it a horse tranquilizer, they, of course, being the government, Biden‘s government! They censored and cut off anything that doctors were saying against the RMA vaccination, facemask, 6 foot distance. Of course we were told it was all from scientific research. Turns out Fauci made it up. But Doctor couldn’t tell you that they were censored, and their medical license threatened. And this is what people who vote for the Democrats support. I sure hope they realize, the amount of lying their supporting. Lying like Biden at the top of his game. Heard that one last week. And my favorite lie of all time, the gas prices are so high because of Putins war. The truth is before Putin had his first soldier at the border of Ukraine. The Biden administration had already increased our fuel prices by 60%. That was before anybody had even known there was a country named Ukraine. And if you don’t believe it do a little research.
