chaseontwowheels hey just for future reference if you can't get a broken bolt with your pliers they make reverse drill bits that pull them out without the risk of ruining the threads.👌 and oh ya I get frustrated it just took me 3 days to install my rear tire cuz I was missing a socket adapter and no one local had it 🤦♂️

You are always going to run into these types of challenges when doing something even if it's new. Please do not be upset or hard on yourself. I'm happy to keep supporting you because I like watching you work through the process even if I have what I think is a better way to do it. Thank you for your hard work.

These challenges are very common when using "universal" parts. It can sometimes feel like you have Legos mixed in with Lincoln Logs with a bit of an Erector Set and it will take a bunch of effort to get them all to fit with each other. Keep it up Chase, you are in the home stretch! Glad you ran into zero issues with our kit 😉

Every-time I have a 15 minute car project or bike project, it's going to be at least an hour. that gasket material needs to be completely removed with a razor blade before you put the case back together, otherwise you are just asking for leaks.........

@yannickske2787 жыл бұрын
Ofcourse you use a razorblade, the metal or aluminium can take a beating. I had to replace the oilpan of a Hyundai a while ago and used a wirebrush to get the old sealer off. Worked like a charm and nothing was damaged

this debate if funny to me....should I troll? I am being nice by asking if I should troll
@joshcline11937 жыл бұрын
I agree with IVS. yes you can do it with a razor blade but remember your case is made of Aluminum which is fairly soft metal so a steel razor blade will slice right through it if you are not careful. Slow and steady wins the race in this instance.

The purpose of alcohol is to lube the little tubes and then evaporate, leaving no residue. Using WD40 is putting oil in it, which yes, makes it easier to get in, but also easy to get out. vibrations will cause leaks

Negative comments of course. I don't think Chase would mind a bit of constructive criticism. He states in nearly every one of these videos that he's learning as he goes and by no means should anybody use the videos as a "how to" guide. What Gangplank said is what I'm talking about. Chase, for the hoses on the CLUTCH/BRAKES and the rubber gromet on the braided steel hose running down the fork, you need to used 95% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, AKA rubbing alcohol. They will slide into place effortlessly and when the Alcohol dries up it will seal the rubber. Doing a great job on the customizing. Keep it up.

- If all of that crap in the brake line reservoirs was black and gritty, or looked like chunks or bits of rubber, that usually means the lines are deteriorating and should be replaced. - I don't know for sure about Ducati, but you should usually have two crush washers for each end of the brake/hydraulic clutch lines (one on either side of each banjo bolt). - After all of your lines are back in place, turn the bars back and forth to make it doesn't bind. - That black thing on the bottom of the old clutch lever looks like it should be a clutch switch (let's the bike know when the clutch is pulled in, works as a safety interlock for starting/ignition). - I'm still only an MMI student, so these are just my observations. Professionals, correct me if I am wrong.

chase, brake fluid is hydroscopic. basically what whoever you were reading was trying to say is that the way that brake fluid ruins everything is it absorbs any water in anything it touches. now if you do make a boo-boo and spill it on something, start dumping water on it, like seriously spray the area with water so that the fluid aborbs that water instead of the water traces in whatever it's touching.
