It’s like fishing, you never know what luck you’ll have. There are some railfan platforms in towns around Florida such as Dade City and Plant City, they’re great places to try the hobby out and part of where my fascination with railfanning stems from

Does CSX pay to use CP or CN locomotives this far into the U.S. ?

They will either pay CP back in cash, or lend CP some of their own locomotives for repayment. The latter is called “horsepower hours”
