the buyout stuff is most likely for the T6 ship coupon that some people didn't finish. the 3 featured TFOs mentioned and "coupon progress" are the big hint for that.

Hello Mr. Counteryologaming, and wanted to say, this was a most comprehensive and helpful video

Well since I did the Victory is life event with my Dominion eng last time at least I won't have to worry about creating another one all I have to do is wait for the Temporal recruitment event rerun.

This is excellent STO content. Thank you and keep up the good work. I've learned so much from your videos, especially about survival and tanking which doesn't have nearly as much content/tutorials as DPS does. As for the LTS Vangaurd ship, Im looking forward to flying it on my Jem'Hadar Gamma recruit, so the timing is excellent. I tend to agree that we need a Temporal recruit rerun but my understanding is that it would be hard to do (no idea why) so it is very unlikely to happen.

I understand why they did the Gamma recruit rerun but I really wished that they could activate the temporal recruit event simultaneously.

Bit late, but having issues doing the 100 queues on my Gamma Recruit, and was wondering if the Gamma skirmishes count toward that so I can spend a few hours knocking that out while I finish up the last few rank 5 rep tasks I still need.

Never bought the Dominion (JH) big pack, working to unlock for my account after I spent money left a bad taste in my mouth, but I bought the (JH) starter so there's always that discount if/when. It seems the (JH) big pack has a few nice consoles. Nice of Cryptic to rerun this recruit event. Cryptic won't rerun the Temporal recruit event & that is just lazy & sad on Cryptic's part. Recruit reruns also spotlight the omission that Cryptic won't rerun previous event ships. I don't think a once a year rerun for a previous ship would hurt Phoenix gambling. No Dominion LTS special shuttle neither! As usual, excellent video & detailed information. That mission journal shuffling was terrible imo. Also, that Temporal upgrade in gear is a huge advantage for players that achieve that in the Temporal recruit. I thought Cryptic had stated they'd add the previous coupon version to this newest reiteration too, but it makes sense for them to add a buy-out instead to try to get more $. I'm glad LTS players are finally getting their JH veteran ship.

What officer did he mention at 28:50 ? "Proofatock Officer"?
@CounterYoloGaming5 жыл бұрын
Improved Photonic Officer. It is an insanely good trait for exotic builds (especially science tanks), and a decent cooldown trait option to make the Photonic Officer ability competitive with Aux-to-Batt builds. The downside is that it is from the exchange; Arrest is a workable earnable alternative for cooldown reduction in its place. sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Improved_Photonic_Officer

@@CounterYoloGaming OH, lol. Right on. Yeah, i have that, and you're correct about it. I just wasn't able to understand what you were saying. It kinda slurred together into a term that had me scratching my head. Thanks for clearing that up.

it wouldent hurt to run the full recruit events all at once. i have mine but since they are running gamma again i can change my unplayed engineer jemhadar and switch it to a tac.

this question is not related to the video do you know anywhere i can sell Delta Prime besides the exchange? i know you do tanking in STO and Delta Prime is a Trait tanks use but i'm getting no luck on the exchange?
@CounterYoloGaming5 жыл бұрын
There used to be some STO channels in-game you could use, but nowadays they are mainly just used for trading the promo T6 starships for other expensive items (if they aren't just silent). Your best bet would be /r/stotrades honestly. If you haven't created a reddit account, they will be a little untrusting of you at first until you having put a few posts there (or posts on the regular STO Reddit for a few months) to prove that you aren't creating a new account just to mess someone over. It looks like someone sold the APDP trait for about 180m EC about 2 weeks ago, so as long as something in that ballpark is agreeable for you, it should be relatively simple to get it off your hands within a few days or so. www.reddit.com/r/STOTrades/ As for why Delta Prime isn't selling? Well, the high-end tanking crowd have realized that, if using the best duty officers, that Attack Pattern Beta is just superior in most cases to Attack Pattern Delta (even with the Delta Prime starship trait). It wasn't something I realized when I started this channel, but as I have gotten more and more advice to make my builds better -- and testing the suggestions myself -- it is an accurate statement. It honestly is your mid-level endgame tanking builds out there that would be interested in this trait, as the high-end tanks won't use it anymore unfortunately [at least until we get another console, trait, or duty officer to make it more competitive with Beta]. The only situations I can see where Delta beats Beta is when (1) you are a dps captain but always end up taking the most attacks-in (so APDP could increase your dps if you have lower CritD on your build than the the typical super high-end dps crowd) or (2) you are a tank that actually happens to have a dedicated healer in your premade TFO group -- which is quite rare, but allows you to focus solely on dps & threat generation and rely on that healer starship for your extra survival needs. Most PvE captains prefer Beta, and PvP captains prefer Omega & Lambda in most situations. Delta Prime is a situational niche trait, but strong when that situation presents itself.

has to be a dom character for gamma recruit ?
@CounterYoloGaming5 жыл бұрын
Yes it does need to be a dominion character, either Jem'Hadar or Jem'Hadar Vanguard. All you need to do is create one and finish the tutorial (through defending Deep Space Nine, choosing a faction, and talking to Odo about your faction decision thereafter) for you to receive the special gamma recruit inventory item before the event ends. After receiving that, you can complete the objectives from it at your own leisure, even after the event ends.

If you are buying a pack of recommend the jem hadar gamma pack that's on sale now. Beyond that the 31st century bundle of Flagship bundle are also quite nice.

If you can wait until later November for Black Friday week in STO, that is the best time generally to buy things from the store. Everything is 25% off or more during that time, which I believe is better than any current sale in the game right now (besides the periodic lifetime sub sale -- that never goes below $199). The only major things on sale right now is the Jem'Hadar stuff (with the 2k Zen Gamma Vanguard Starter Pack the value one right now on sale). Unfortunately, that faction puts you right into the endgame at level 60 [not meant for first-time players, but experienced players starting an alt character]. As you are a new player to the game, you probably don't know what playstyle you want to use nor how much money you actually want to sink into this game (it will take as much as you want to give). I'd suggest to go with a classic 2409 federation captain and pick the 2,000 zen ($20) federation elite starter pack. You get a scaling T6 cruiser (3k zen otherwise) of its tutorial starship alongside a borg bridge officer, and basically just pay the regular price of a cheaper PC game for that (there's also a 2k zen version for klingon & romulan faction captains if that's what you want to play to start, though their ships are flimsier...). This link as the details of those packs, don't get the more expensive versions of the packs though (as they break better packs in the C-Store if you decide to play for a while). www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11277833-new-starter-and-faction-packs%21 I wouldn't spend any more than that until you have experienced a LOT more in the game and love playing the game, no need to get buyer's remorse over a Star Trek game after all. Those 2k starter packs are in the Starter Packs tab of the C-Store; be warned though to NOT buy the 400 zen starter packs nor the 1k Elite Services Starter Packs in that tab -- they are both generally bad deals. The age of discovery starter pack is a little cheaper but the starship doesn't fully scale into the endgame like other T6 starships do, and starts falling off right when the game actually requires you to start having better builds around level 40. Keep in mind, there is no need to spend any money in the game to get a lot of enjoyment out of it. The real reason to spend money is to make it easier to play, space barbie, or playing on elite difficulty (and endgame thing). At the early levels on the regular free starships in this game, your builds can be terrible and you will be just fine -- it's when you hit level 40 is when the game starts getting harder fast and looking at budget build guides is nice on KZbin or STO Reddit.

@psyph3rscollection2885 жыл бұрын
Although dry, I feel it's well represented info for Console Alternatives; which is always much needed, since many of us can't make all events or afford certain highly expensive consoles/traits. It's a well laid out Powerpoint-like presentation, I think. Easy to understand and needed :)

So basically pay a few hundred dollars to get a ship build to use in a game nobody plays anymore lmao!
