Yanmar is a company that should really know what they are doing making diesel engines. They started making gasoline engines in 1912 and produced their first diesel in 1933, so 91 years ago. They have made a lot of engines since then and are especially well known for their small to midsize diesels. I really can't say I know a lot about their current engines but thirty years back they were very well known for quality engines and reliability.

I tell ya....with smaller equipment, the technology is advancing quickly. I wouldn't consider buying a gas push mower anymore and I'll bet as the prices come down on zero turns we'll be saying the same thing. Right now the cost is very high
