Beacon: synergizes with defense, damage to all, evasion, and counter. Destroy with Oblivion if your good gear already has attack speed. IMO, outclassed by blood groves/hungry groves, which shave off 15-20% of all nearby mobs hp, and produce flesh golems, which are a great source of high level loot, once skeletons and blood clots stop keeping up.

You can use the beacons to manipulate your days and day-loop timing to stack better effects and enemy compositions while advancing loops faster to get better loot quicker :) i.e. You move faster but the day goes by at the same speed. Overall less enemies to fight when they don't have time to spawn which means less loot but it becomes stronger later when you can sustain the fights easily but don't want too much enemies to have good HP on the boss while being able to place a ton of cards :)

@Northernlion "Good 1st run" - yeah ok - here is a few tips to make it great then :-D 1: Treasuries are important! They give a lot of resources and give the exact same bonus for the meadows as the mountains! Placing meadows next to mountains is a waste! Like actually just ruins it. (look for why in 2) Treasuries can be "gamed" a bit. 1st trick: Only build on one side of your treasuries. to begin with. You can "chain" them if you wait on placing the last row of meadows till you have a 2nd treasury. This saves on space + saves on the amount of meadows you need to unlock them (So if you are going for 2 treasuries you would normally need 16 meadows to open them. If you chain them you only need 13. This adds up because if you are going for 3 - you only need 18 - so you basically almost get a "buy 2 get 3" situation. NOW - 2nd trick - if you get creative and have the space for it, you can do several things. If you make a low card deck build with focus on treasuries, you can make more advanced combos, the simplest of which is the 2x2. The concept of this is the same as the first trick, however you save even more. Simplified: make a 3x3 grid where you start with the corners all being treasuries. Then fill in meadows all around them. This build gives you 4 treasuries for 21 meadows. The more advanced version have you stacker them by one to get more adjacency bonuses for the meadows. 2: Rocks and mountains are important for your late game. Placing them at random is actually a horrible idea. First off - when making the "3x3" square, ONLY use rocks. Using mountains essentially wastes 10 max hp pr mountain (Rocks gives 2 hp +2 adjacency bonus = 10hp. Mountains 0 +5 adjacency bonus = 20hp) When placing the first rock, put it in the very center of the largest build area. When you have completed the center, just plonk everything wherever. If you want to min/max it, only use rocks where it's not possible to get a 4 side adjacency bonus. A rock covered on 3 sides gives 8 hp and thus only loses 2 hp, where a mountain covered on 3 sides gives 15 and thus loses 5. Can go on here - but this is already TL:DR! LOL

Gymnasium is insanely good and a game changer. It adds exp gauge and level up perks to the game. In my opinion, when getting armour and building rocks, the focus should be the stats. Most of the armours just give max Hp bonus, so if your hp is already not at max, it won't make much of a difference. For the rocks and mountains same thing, there's no need to build more and risk being swarmed by goblins, if your character is already not picking up with the pace. Wait to it to pick up and restore to full health to start thinking on investing on max hp again.

NL placing the meadow beside any building, including stuff like vampire houses/treasuries makes it fertile In a similar vein, if you surround the treasury's adjacent 8 tiles with anything the treasury gives mad resources

Pro tip: If possible, save your Oblivion cards for the boss. The Lich gets a boost for every Palace tile around it (and he spawns a bunch when he pops in), so if you can use the Oblivions to get rid of some of them, you make the fight much easier.

Your over thinking the beacons, it makes you and the enemys hit faster equally, same damage less time. makes you walk faster, it just speeds up the loop. Walking faster doesn't make days progress faster though of course, so theres something there you could do with it for sure.
