Not in any way trying to be mean, but you’ve made a couple of technical mistakes here - cornflour instead of plain flour… which you burned, and ultimately you didn’t add milk so you there was no bechamel, you essentially baked potatoes with a burned roux made from cornflour.

Definitely not my best. I did remake it with flour roux and it was much better 🙌

@@SpiceLifeWithShams turn that roux into a bechamel at least - even better if you add cheese & make it a mornay. Makes it 1000x creamier. I’ve never seen somebody put just roux in an au gratin.

If you would have slowed down I might have learned how to make this. You slammed down a jar of something and you layered something dark over the first group of potatoes I don't know what that was supposed to be.
