I converted to whole-food plant-based once I had a breast cancer diagnosis and dropped from 163 pounds to 128 pounds within a couple of months! I did go through chemo and radiation...worked all through that time. Was just seen by the surgeon who removed my left breast a year ago and she told me everything looks good!

Dr. Kristi Funk is amazing! All the devastation with the wildfires and she’s spreading the word about health without any break💚Just yesterday saw her IG about cleaning up with the fires, today she’s with Chef AJ, selflessly advocating and spreading the lifesaving knowledge 💚

As a retired nurse who began her delve into science of cancers as a 12 year old electing to do her 8th grade science report on breast cancers (one of my mother’s best friends had breast cancer) I found Dr. Funk”s conversation fascinating and very beneficial. I spent 25+ years of my career in nursing and then moved into 25+ years of clinical research. I can understand that folks without a science background might find it difficult to fully understand all the details of her conversation. However, for those who don’t understand all the ‘science details’, filter out the deep science and use the important take-aways - opt to reduce your risks through diet, exercise, reduction or elimination of alcohol. The basics will help you.

As soon as I was diagnosed I got her book ~ however her chapter on stage4 is the least hopeful depressing thing, it really set me back as a newly diagnosed thriver. She basically says, if you have stage 4 you’re dying… I don’t give false hope ☠️☠️☠️ wow not very nice. Still enjoyed this interview, good info about the science of weight and cancer

Dr Kristi gets it. We all have cancer cells in us at all times among our 50-100 trillion cells even with the best diet/lifestyle. It is the immune/gut system that was designed to eliminate them before they aggregate and become a problem. Unregulated cancer growth is primarily due to a failure of the immune/gut system and has little to do with the cancer cell. We can increase the rate of cancer cell creation by improper diet/lifestyle We can also impair and dysregulate the immune/gut system by the same improper diet/lifestyle. This is why the majority of AIDS patients (broken immune system) who succumb to the consequences of AIDS pass from cancer. Unregulated cancer growth is an immune/gut issue. Not a cancer cell issue This is why external agents designed to kill cancer cells such a chemo only tend to have a temporary effect and high long term recidivism rates. It is near impossible to replace the super sophisticated immune/gut system with any external agent. Fix the diet/lifestyle/immune/gut and get the immune/gut engaged with the cancer and long term survival is possible.

At 42:52 she says multiple pregnancies is a risk reducer but she just said having a baby past age 30/35 is a 30% greater risk of breast cancer vs a woman who never had a baby. This doesn’t make sense (i.e. sayingthese 2 things together). Can anyone explain?
@BethMucci14 күн бұрын
Maybe the key word is multiple? Does 2 count as multiple (for the science in this case). I had our daughter when I was 32 and our son when I was 35.

If anyone has osterioperosis, check out the Onero program from the Bone Clinic in Australia. There are several locations in the US, and is supervised by trained PTs.

She is talking garbage with how people in the Mediterranean consume alcohol 🍷, Spain and Portugal have currently have a real population alcohol problem with liver disease climbing yearly. the daily chief medical officer recommendation for maximum alcohol consumption used to be set at 7 units in Spain 🇪🇸! As someone who lived in Greece for 5 years I can also tell you they do not just sip tiny amounts of wine either! I personally think it’s their lifestyle overall that reduces their cancer risk! Of course there are lots of people who consume moderate amounts of alcohol just like any where in the world! Think she should do more research on this topic! X
