From someone who's baked bread for almost 60 years i say this: If you want to eat bread hot from the oven, make rolls. Never cut a loaf of bread straight from the oven. It NEEDS to cool to finish the baking process, otherwise it gums up because you let all the steam and moisture out before it was ready. You can always warm it again later but let it finish its baking first! Try 2 loaves and compare. BTW, greek yogurt and self rising flour kneaded slightly, made into balls, then flattened and cooked on the stove with a lid gives you English muffins.

2 Ingredient Sandwich Bread Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper on the long side only with sides hanging over (handles). In a large bowl, sift 3 cups self rising flour. To your flour, add 1 3/4 cup regular vanilla flavored yogurt (do not use Greek yogurt). Using a silicone spatula, stir until we’ll combined. If your dough is too stiff, add a small amount of yogurt and blend in. Place dough in prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake in preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. If top starts to get too brown, shield with aluminum foil. Remove from pan using the parchment handles. Allow to cool before slicing.

This did not work for me at all. My dough was a very small amount and didn't even fill half my loaf pan. I used the regular yogurt but I substitute yogurt for "so-delicious" vanilla yogurt. My dough was a bit dry so I added a lil more yogurt. My dough still didn't fill my loaf pan. My bread came out very dense, damp, and had no color at all. Bread was still white in color. The smell was amazing but I couldn't eat it at all. I tried improvising by slicing it and toasting it but it was extremely dense as if it couldn't cook anymore. I was sad to waste both ingredients. I will try this again but need to come up with something different to keep it from being dense

@@portlandbreadfruit I would think the only reason not to use Greek is that it might be too thick to mix well with that much flour. (not liquid enough...) One could probably use Greek if you cut back on the Greek and add buttermilk, milk, or cream to thin it out to plain yogurt consistency,...to equal the 1 3/4 cup that's called for. (we only have plain Greek in our house and don't want the sugar in Vanilla)

Pam, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe. I made it and it turned out great! Not only do I love it because it is an alternative to buying bread but since I have been making my own bread for a while, this recipe saves even more money with just 2 ingredients. I have used the bread with just butter and also made a grilled cheese sandwich with it. AMAZING! I love how the crust comes out. Since then I have taken your recipe on a culinary experimental adventure. I made this loaf and added nutritional yeast to give it a cheesy flavor and added diced chiles to it. Just today I made a cinnamon raisin loaf using your recipe. I soaked the raisins before adding them to the flour and cinnamon. I meant to use plain whole milk yogurt so I also added some light brown sugar. Accidentally I grabbed the vanilla whole milk yogurt but it didn't turn out too sweet at all - mildly sweet. I wish I could add a photo to this comment so you could see how well the cheese/chile bread and the cinnamon raisin bread turned out. I have a small chest freezer that I can make more loaves and preserve. I want to do a cranberry orange zest loaf. I am curious to see how it would turn out if I make it a different shape almost like a round flat loaf with tomatoes, rosemary, and Greek olives. So many options to experiment with! Again, THANK YOU!

Oh my goodness Pam.....I made this bread last week and it was so delicious my husband and I ate the entire loaf in 2 days! It came out perfect. After i removed it from oven while it was still hot i took a stick of butter and rolled it over the top, sides and bottom of loaf to help soften the crust. Then after the loaf completely cooled and after we'd already eaten half the loaf...(couldnt help it, it was so delicious) I put remainder of loaf into a large ziplock baggie and set it on my counter. Next day the crust was totally soften and the bread was even more delicious the next day. We couldn't stop eating it. The entire loaf gone after just 2 days. This bread is so flavorful with a hint of sweet vanilla. So yummy! Thank you so much for this recipe. I've shared your KZbin with several freinds and family. If you want the taste of regular white bread, I would use plain yogurt, a bit of salt, maybe a tiny bit of sugar, but that vanilla yogurt is sweet. I am trying to think of some add ins like cheese, and spices, to make it savory or sweet. 😋

Hey Pam. God bless you. I made your bread recipe with whole wheat flour and added a touch more yogurt because it was a little dry after mixing. And, I like the results. I'm not a very good cook to begin with but channels like yours encourage people like us to continue to learn and be encouraged to try!!! 😂❤❤❤

Best gifts my mother in law gave us was a bread maker for our anniversary (Feb. 11th) and an electric knife for Valentine's day. She knew I would make bread immediately, so she waited the 3 days between to give us the electric knife and OH MY GOODNESS!! An electric knife is a MUST if you're trying to slice fresh bread! They're not expensive and save you a lot of time and frustration! Please try it! You'll never cut fresh bread any other way! I pinkie promise! Love from the Pacific Northwest (Oregon)

Thank you, I can't wait to make this!! FYI- put your flour or any bread in the fridge or freezer 24hrs & it cuts the glucose/carb value in HALF!!!!! This is a FACT. Parboil (precook) rice or pasta/potatoes & refrigerate overnight to reduce carb value
