Chef Rose of Caro and Marie, Cebu

This tutorial is for those who want a puto bibingka recipe without yeast. The flavor of this puto comes from the coconut milk so make sure that you do not scrimp on the coconut. You can add a bit more sugar if you want it sweeter. Follow the instructions and you will get a light and fluffy puto bibingka which you can also bake instead of steam. Bake at 375F until done. Give this a try!

Salamat, Chef Rose, for sharing this puto recipe. I tried it, and it came out very well. The only thing is that it turned out real fluffy and a little crumbly, but otherwise taste great---match sa aking dinuguan! I wonder kung sumobra kaya sa pagmi-mix??? Thank you, Chef.

It maybe a bit fluffy and crumbly if bagong luto. It is more firm when it has cooled down. Thanks for trying out this recipe!

Hi chef Rose ! I just make my Rice puto , and I devided the measurements into 2 and i notice the consistency is a little thick so i added 3 cups of coconut milk , and my baking powder is 1 Tbs. + 1 tsp, the result has a little crack on it, do you think the problem is the baking powder? maybe i’ll make it 2 Tbs. instead?

I did not understand your question in the part when you said you added 3 cups coconut milk and baking powder. Did you mean in addition to what is in the recipe? With regards to the cracking of the puto, aside from the addition of sufficient amount of baking powder, it is due to high heat when you steam. Please follow to the recipe to the letter. They have been kitchen tested several times for accuracy. Please try again and let me know how it went. Good luck!

Hi, Chef Rose.... How professorial, thank you for this recipe. I love puto using galapong and coconut milk. Rice flour works well too.... Just a few questions.... 1. Is it regular rice flour and NOT glutinous rice flour po, isn't it? 2. Can I use this batter to make the Pinoy simbang gabi bibingka? Thank you, Chef!

Use regular rice flour NOT glutinous rice flour Yes you can use this recipe for simbang gabi bibingka but the original recipe uses yeast which you can find in my youtube channel. Thank you for supporting my channel.

Rice flour is giniling na bigas. Glutinous rice flour is ginilang na malagkit rice.

Perfect! No after taste at all. You always need more baking powder when you steam.

You can replace coconut milk with whole milk or evaporated milk NOT powdered milk po.

Add the cost of all the ingredients you used, add packaging, labor and utilities and then percentage of mark up that you want. I am sorry but I can not give you specific costing because we do not get our ingredients at the same price and the prices of ingredients are changing every week so you have to do your own costing.
