I applaud the cleanliness of Chennai, but even more can be done. There were still cracked/nonexistent sidewalks, a couple (but not too many) heaps of rubble and trash, and some poorly maintained buildings. First and foremost, eminent domain must be strengthened so the government can acquire the land it needs to build infrastructure. Second, FDI ratios are stunting the skyline, which will lead to high housing prices as Chennai keeps growing.

Due to a restriction of doppler radar in the Chennai Port, skyscrapers are not much in Chennai. The city is also expanding horizontally, so we don't need. It's not linear growing, conical shaped like Mumbai. Having skyscrapers is not an identity for a good city. London also has less skyscrapers compared to NYC.

Bhubaneswar is nowhere close to Chennai's GDP, combined GDP of Chennai city ( by including the city area that's well spread among 4 districts) is the 2nd largest in india next to Mumbai. Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai are OG metropolitan and pioneer cities of India, nothing could beat them

Bbsr might be a capital of temples, but it doesn't put Chennai far ahead, infact Chennai is the only metropolitan to conserve it's huge number of temples and it's regarded as cultural capital Coming to city planning, ofcourse Chennai is a well planned metro city in comparison to bengaluru and Mumbai, infact Madras is the 2nd oldest corporation in the world, so city planning is not a joke here... Moreover Chennai is the medical capital of India, medicine here is cheap, affordable and has a good standard ( need not forget that MMC could beat AIIMS bhubaneswar at all times, source: NMC nirf ranking )..... Chennai city is not for fun, it's an hub for a lot of companies and indistries, enjoyment is available outside the city like ecr, omr, mahabs, Pondicherry so on...... So ppl here are not bored though Comparing Chennai with bbsr is like comparing a PhD scholar with a 10th grade topper...... Chennai could be only compared with bangalore, hyderabad or Mumbai, it comes under a different league . No offense to bbsr btw...... :)
