Poromboke is an old Tamil word meaning shared-use community resources like waterbodies, seashore and grazing lands that are not assessed for tax purposes. Today, it has become a bad word used to describe worthless people or places. Chennai Poromboke Paadal is part of a campaign to reclaim the word and restore its worth.

I wish your team travels to the Ganges river bank right from Haridwar to Sundarban to show how we have degraded the mother of all rivers, River Ganga. Ganga, Kaveri, Brhahmputra, Mahanadi, Godavari, Yamuna, Narmada, Krishna, Sone and many such rivers are our lifeline. They mean different things to different lives. First time i'm enjoying carnatic music through a message.The song has come at the right time before the Ennore oil spill. Just combine both the issues and sent to the National Green Tribunal. ..Ennore, Pallikaranai and other welands must be added to Ramsar sites..... It will automatically get protection. Also share this video. :-)

Appreciate his thinking on saving Environment of Ennore creek area, also thinking of beyond ennore, which shows through his lyrics in the entire song. Fantastic initiative, must seen by other singers to think about saving cities and environmental focus, his initiative starting from Chennai. It is a collective failure by all agencies but no one ready to take this problem in a pragmatic manner, TMK has rendered not only good song but also creative awareness to do something. My support to you TMK.

fantastic ! Though the term Vadai sudarthu looks foreign to us who are living outside tamilnadu , the english subtitle cleared the meaning. More mesmerised by the ragamalika content starting from ananda bairavi and ending with sindu bairavi than the lyrics , which could have been better and more poetical.
