Cooking spray
1 (16 oz) package of jumbo buttermilk biscuits
½ (20 oz) can of lite cherry pie filling
¼ cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Baking Sheet:
Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Prepare the Biscuits:
Open the package of jumbo buttermilk biscuits and separate them.
Flatten each biscuit slightly using your hands or a rolling pin to create a larger circle.
Fill the Biscuits:
Place a small spoonful (about 1-2 cherries and some filling) of the cherry pie filling in the center of each flattened biscuit.
Be careful not to overfill to prevent the filling from spilling out during baking.
Fold and Seal:
Fold the edges of each biscuit over the filling, pinching the edges together to seal them. You can also use a fork to press the edges for a decorative seal.
Place the filled and sealed biscuits seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Prepare the Glaze:
While the cherry pie bites are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar with a small amount of water or milk (about 1-2 teaspoons) in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency as needed; it should be thick but pourable.
Glaze the Bites:
Once the cherry pie bites are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Drizzle the powdered sugar glaze over the warm cherry pie bites using a spoon or fork.
