I was there spectating when he played the hustler. After the matches he asked all the spectators for a crisp 10$ for the elite level tutoring he just gave us all. I tried to ignore him but he followed me around Toronto and even managed to steal my sunglasses. Do not support these guys

Had a similar experience with Aman, ran into him outside market mall in Calgary. Told him I was a big fan, he said my 800 ELO is dogshit and to "get good" then asked me for the time and insisted he "borrow" my watch. He left with it then muttered something about me never being able to get girls with a "hairline like that" and to "step my game up".

When you see hundreds of games of him going into a think and finding the mate online you get used to the perspective and its normal. Seeing him do it over the board going into a think and finding a tricky mating net is not something you get to see OTB very often period so its very cool and like the original comment said it was a very neat mate which it was.

Don't worry, Hikaru did just that in a tournament, and had to explain himself. Its only illegal in Europe. :) I played just one OTB tournament and promoted my pawn to queen of opponents colour :)

Even in the first game, the opponent played terribly, making simple counting errors and hanging pawns left right and centre. I would be surprised if his opponent was higher-rated than 1000-1200 chess сом.

First game is more of what you should expect from GMs than the second game, in the second game the guy just blundered some opening tactics. In the first game you get to see how a knight dominated the bishop, especially given black was a pawn up already going in to the endgame
