Great video. I am a bit disappointed because I was expecting advice for black too. You only talk from white's perspective. Too bad.

@@flotreize3447 That's because it's not good for black, so black should never play it. It's not even in the category of "dubious opening that gains an advantage against an underprepared opponent", it's just bad.

I knew it was wrong because of post game analysis but wasn't sure the best way of exploiting it. I generally played d3 and later on h4 with the idea of castling queen side, then contesting the pawn with g4, g5 . It was a so-so response objectively. But I did get some wins from the pressure it created.

What if black plays 3. Nf6 first and after 4.d3 h6? As far as I know d4 is still the critical line but white lost a tempo compared too the other variation. The reason behind 4. h6 is to follow with a quick g5 and attack on the kingside if white castles short and does the normal Italian manoveurs.

Playing 4. d3 wouldn't make much sense if you want to play the fried liver attack, you should play 4. Bc4 instead

What do you think about trying to gambit the b2 pawn in order to take control of the long diagonal with the bishop?
@tellahsage6477
@tellahsage6477 7 ай бұрын
You mean doing it like in the Danish Gambit? That's the way i like to play too, it's super strong the engine loves it. Almost every natural continuation for Black is almost losing, he has to find only moves just to maintain +1 for white instead of +4, +5... if you're an aggressive player and sharp at tactics then this is a crushing refutation that's for sure

Well, I promised to report how 4. d4 worked out after 3. ... h6. Today was the day. Although Black answered differently by 4. ... Sxd4, 5. Lxf7+ still worked fine. After 6. Sxe5+ I could collect the Knight on d4. However, doing that I missed the train to checkmate (6. Qh5+ and so on and so on, chasing the King over the board). Nevertheless the position for Black became uncomfortable, so I could win the game in the 24. move. The King fixed in the middle is really hard to defend. Conclusion: Relax a bit if Black comes up with the Anti-Fried-Liver-Defense. Thanks Alex for the lesson.

At 2:15 if black captures e5 with the d6 pawn first, instead of the knight first; then the Bxf7 trick seems to end up worse for white. In that case, would you just trade queens after 5. ....dxe4?

Hey if after d4 if they support with d3. After the pawn exchange if the queen exchange is taken by black bishop f6 never works and it is white who lost the right to castle. Can any one help with that
@SwiftIRLtv
@SwiftIRLtv 2 жыл бұрын
so im pretty new but heres what it seems to me: after pawn exchange then you take their queen and force them to lose right to castle. if they take your queen back with king then Bxf7. if they take the queen back with knight then Nxe5. hope this helps:D (and if theres a better move someone please let me know im still learning^^)

Yeah but what do I play instead as black? It's easy to win it as white with the extra tempo, but it's what to do with black that really interests me, as many players try this opening against me when I'm black.
