More Details About This Video:
It is important to stretch our chest muscles such as the pectoralis muscles because when they are tight, they pull your shoulders inward. This video has three simple stretches to loosen your chest muscles.
The first stretch is a corner stretch. Find a corner in your house and place a hand on each corner. Stagger your feet, and bend the front knee forward pushing your head towards the wall. Try to squeeze your shoulder blades, or scapula together like you are pinching them together. Next, clasp your hands behind you, and push your hands downward and push your chest out. Do each of these 3 times for 30 seconds. For the last exercise, you need to lie down on your back. Cross one leg over your body to the opposite side you want to stretch. Put your arm straight out, and take a deep breath. Your arm will lift gently off the floor when you breathe in and stretch your chest.

Yes same except that my side chest hurts only while i bench like a cut with knife, so i bought a cream for muscle.pain relief and some exercises

My chest gets painful the next day after a “heavy” bench press day but it’s the good pain what you are supposed to get after a good workout. I just want to stretch it out properly after workout. I am trying to improve my flexibility and mobility. It helps with the healthiness of the muscle and stretching also prevents injuries as well. Stretching out the muscles will also help with growth.

Same thing happens. It is irritating when you can't breath deep without having pain. It's in lower left chest.

I've been battling a chest strain for about a week now, and until today, was in so much pain that I couldn't do anything but pop prescription pills and sit on my couch...I was reading on another site that sitting still only exacerbates that pain and that you should try light stretches in order to eliminate the need for the meds...considering that one of the scrips is oxycodone, (strong, and I've never taken anything this strong) and the pill bottle warns that it could become addictive, I've been looking for ways to ween myself off it...these stretches were JUST what the doctor ordered...after hardly being able to take deep breaths without wanting to cry out in pain for the last several days and being due for another dose of the strong stuff, lol, I am on my couch after having done your stretches, relatively pain free. I'll continue to do these and take the less strong Aleve and will hopefully have a fully functioning chest and shoulder soon. Thanks SO MUCH for sharing these easy and rather relaxing stretches! :) LDB.

In I'm 9 years late but omg thank you so much, I have been struggling with intense chest and shoulder pain from doing way to much weight and reps at the gym for the past 4 days now, and I have been in a hunched position all of these days in absolute agony, not even pain killers helped but these 3 stretches omg it fixed me up within minutes, I still have aches and pains but they have been reduced by atleast 50% to 70% unlike pain killers that did nothing. I am also more mobile and can stand up straight now and move about freely with minimal pain. Again thank you so much.

This is game changing. I have been doing these stretches in micro form because that's what felt right for my back pain but it only ever provided a very temporary relief. And now I know why. I haven't been holding them nearly long enough. Thank you so much!!

Been having chest spasms from what myself & the nurse at the Little Clinic believe to be the muscles in my chest (she could feel the muscle spasming & said my heart sounds great). I’m a 24 year old fit male so I’d assume it’s not a heart issue. Did these stretches and the fluttering stopped. Hopeful this can be a fix moving forward so I can keep working out without worrying I’m dying lol

Sure. The forearms include your wrist flexors and extensors. You can check out my tennis/golfer's elbow stretches. If they are too easy, you can hold a weight in your hand while performing them.

Your stretches for pectoral muscles are terrific. Whatever you can say about running (min 3 miles/day for 40 years, it does nothing for the upper body ;) I can barely do the #3 (relaxation), but the stretching I feel, gives me hope that I can get rid of sore trapezius/pectoral muscles for ever! Your enthusiastic approach is comforting.

It could be, but tell me a little more about what is going on. Does it also hurt, or is it just tight? Does it ever hurt any other time, like twisting, bending, after eating? Does it happen more early in the morning versus later in the day? Did you have any kind of injury or accident recently?

Thanks love, your guidance has really changed my life for the better. I was suffering form severe sternum inflamation. Docs ruled out is chostichondritis. Followed your advice, the result were as beautiful as you.

Awesome, thank you. I suggested to our students that they avoid the forward head syndrome. To not stick/push their chin forward & looking down. Try to keep our head (bowling ball on a stick) over our spine😊

Cause sometimes spasms are really painful feels like I'm going to have a heart attack and I get anxiety and I start to panic and pain gets worse so I try to calm down and seems to help a like with the pain

to not overexagerrate it might just be anxiety or like inflammation in your muscles i think it’s like the pectoral muscles. DO THESE STRETCHES ! exercise. and try eating healthy. but def get a checkup just to make sure everything is fine. and if you can maybe get an ekg done. and if everything’s fine it’s mostly likely that . change your posture too .

Thank you! That really helps. I have 2 herniated discs in my neck from working icu for so many years as a nurse. My neck, shoulders, and pecs get very tight a lot.

Astroman The Goat can a tight chest or a pulled chest cause shortness of breath? I have some soreness when I press down under my pecs and I feel like I pulled my chest muscle from doing push ups and have shortness of breath

Justin Sanchez yeah man I was doing pull ups and had a sore chest i felt like I had shortness of breath too but it was just anxiety it goes away within 5 or 6 days from my experience

Astroman The Goat I did pushups 3 weeks ago with my daughter on my back, first time I did exercise in 2 years! I had shortness of breath for about a week then it went away. 3 days ago I did curls and overheard tricep extension and the shortness of breath came back! I’m wondering if I re-pulled it? It’s weird because the exercises weren’t chest ones. Sorry to bother you, just looking for some help

Dr Jo its way better now did all the stretches and took paracetamol and now its allgood. Bit of tenderness on right side of pec but that should go away soon. Thanks doc helped heaps

As a bodybuilder who pushes himself daily, someone who has covid (lung and chest pain), and someone who quit smoking (one of the side effects of withdrawal is chest tightness), and asthma on top of that 😂, I can’t tell you how much these stretches help me

Hi there Ms. Lady. I workout (not as consistent lately) and have had chest pains off n on since my early 30s. Well into my 40s, same thing. I've been to cardiologists, had mri, echocardoogram, etc. nothing they say. I just take IB occasionally. I have started doing your stretches for awhile. It helps overall. I get pains mostly after laying down for the night or lifting something relatively heavy, or evrn if I over exert my self, but not too much. Thx for these.
