Hi Gary, welldone, nice to see proudly SA video, explained so eloquently. My opel Astra J 1.4 T clutch failed today, I suspect the thrust bearings. I wonder if it will be very different from this. I intend to do it myself, I'm adamant I will get it right any tips and suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you for a very informative video. I am in Table View and need to take my 2012 Chev Utility 1400 in to service the gearbox which is leaking quite a lot of oil from the inner sideshaft seal. I need to do an urgent trip from Cape Town to Mossel Bay (to build a large fish tank) and back and need the Chev attended to quickly, professionally and at the best possible price... I am on a very tight budget. Do you have any recommendations?

On the passenger side of the gearbox, there is a 13mm head bolt, this is where one fills the gearbox with gearbox oil, the car must be level though.

Hi I have a utility gamma shape have to leave clutch right to the top befire it moves, there's no leaks we have blead the system, I think it's the fingers gone cause pedal is soft and don't need to to push all the way down. What do you think, thanks

If the clutch is functioning well then leave well enough alone until it really needs replacing.

I have 2013 Chev Ute 1.8 (given me nothing but kak). It has started a whining noise only under acceleration. Only happens in 2nd and 3rd gear. Car shifts fine and goes perfect. When you are not accelerating it does not whine. It is a work vehicle so it is often loaded. Have you had any experience like this with other cars? If so what was the problem? Kind regards Craig

Hi i am a proud owner of 1.4 Chevrolet Utility, its got 180000kms on the clock and makes a rattle noise when pulling of in 1st gear. I it possible that it could be clutch and it needs to be replaced? the clutch has never been replaced before

Not necessarily, E, it could just be a loose bracket on the exhaust, at 180000 km it is not usually necessary to replace the clutch it last well into its 250000km range. If the gear selection is not affected and the clutch does not slip then it is highly unlikely the clutch is faulty or needs to be replaced.

Check the globes itself, the circuit fuse for the reverse light circuit. Failing that consult an Auto Electrician as it could be a fault in the wiring lume.

Hi Gary, the center nut for the cv joint, you pre loosened it, what is the method you used there since it is actually pinched to lock it in position?

Hi Sandile, I used a normal Power bar while the car was on the ground the lock is broken with a small amount of force by using the power bar and the right sized socket, I do explain it in the video 3:37 min.

Hi Gary Thank you. ... came right....by loosening the four bolts and steering bolts. Dropping the substrate....controlling it with a jack. Gearbox moved away to replace the CSC without dropping it completely. Job done and going. Thank you for your advise. Nice day from Darling WP

If it is not the clutch assembly Kswiss Saidi then it could be the selector cables that is worn. Gary

A faulty Pressure plate or the clutch is not adjusted correctly, the selector cables could be fitted wrong too. The clutch fork could also be damaged (bent)
