Softly sprung cars with tires demanding high slip angles to generate grip. "Flowy" track without tight chicanes or stop&go U-turns. BOP-ed cars based on road going trims offering wide variety of philosophies behind making GT car without fancy aerodynamic devises that kill close racing. God, I love vintage stuff. I think that amateur-ish GLTC is the closest we can get to this experience despite using modern cars and aero packages.

On the topic of the c2 and how good of a racecar it was, i autocross with the 1972 imsa gt champion and he won the championship in his 1963 small block corvette beating the c3 big block cars. He's a pretty cool dude, runs a 3rd gen mr2 for most of the events but he brought out the old vette for one of the events and it was amazing.

You mean ford 289. That corvette sounds and drives great!!! Thanks.

I have to take a minute to acknowledge the outstanding editing in this video. I genuinely felt like I was watching a real race. I will use this video to demonstrate to friends how Sim Racing can help you develop race craft skills. Terrific stuff, Jake.

This race also reminds me of that scene in Ford Vs Ferrari: Le Mans 66 where Ken Miles was racing in the Willow Springs 100 and Dan Gurney was asking him about the broken windscreen. "New Design", was the deadpan Brummie reply. That was quite an epic battle between the most wonderful looking cars in the field - your Corvette Stingray, and the Beauty of Browns Lane, the Jag E-Type.

Great video of a drop-dead gorgeous car. 1967 was the best looking Corvette, in my books. One minor correction: Cobra was a 289 in small block form (originally a 260, in fact).

Just a little correction here: Those older racing Cobras were using Ford 289 c.i. engines. There was no Ford "286." The _very first_ few Cobras manufactured actually had 260 engines, the predecessor to the 289, and the original "thin wall casting" Ford small-block V8 that later became the 289 and 302 and even, with a taller deck height, the 351 Windsor. And, yes, the 289 Cobras handled better because the 289 engine was much lighter than the massive 427.

I must admit, I've passed your videos by in the past, seeing 20+ minute runtimes and balking. But I've been watching a few over the past week and I gotta say I am _hooked._ The production quality is superb, a lovely blend of history, your own opinions, and of course actually driving, while your commentary, both scripted and on-the-fly, flows wonderfully and makes the twenty minutes fly by. Very easy-listening, these videos feel almost podcast-like and make for great background noise while doing something else as well as paying full attention to. These videos have finally convinced me to pull the trigger on Assetto Corsa, honestly. Thanks! If your stuff is anything to go by, I'm looking forward many hours of high-quality, obscure, and plain silly modded content.

These vintage mods are a completely different skill level than most sim racers on GT3 sims. Frankly, modern racing suffers heavily IRL for the same reason.

This to me is the mod I've longed for for years. Everyone has that period of car and motorsports that is just their personal sweetspot and '60s GTs, especially the Cobra v GTO v E Type battles, are that for me. Bazza, DrDoomsLab, MacTen, Legion and everyone that's contributed to this have done an amazing service. Special shout out to Bazza for not just the physics, but tweaking the AI to get the best from them in these tricky cars too, something that's oft overlooked in mods. In combination with the fantastic period circuits (there's a 60s skin for this Willow Springs on RD by the way), there's a level of immersion here that I never, ever thought I'd get to experience. Can't thank enough every modder that's helped get the game to this point. Excellent cut of the video too, some great tracking shots very nicely timed.

So glad you’ve come to Willow springs GP, it’s my favourite track of all time and you’ve done it justice in this video. It’s a shame that big willow isn’t more common in sims because it’s a blast to drive. Classic GT, Prototype cars are at home here, but to anyone curious modern cars go great around here too. Thanks for the video GPLaps.

I'd really LOVE an AC recreation of the 1970 Le Mans from yours, with the excellent versions of the 917 KH and LH and 512 S Coda Lunga made by Legion (not conversions). You should be able to find the other sportcars and prototypes around, if you want to make an historically-correct version of that legendary edition of the 24 Hours. The only proplem - if you want - is that there isn't a version of the 1968 to '71 Le Mans configuration with the Chicane Ford around yet. It could be done easely adding ARMCOs and the chicane to the already existing "Le Grand" version... thanks for the attenction, Jake!

You can say what you like about American muscle cars but the one thing you guys got right was the noise. The sound of a big American V8 is one of the best automotive sounds going. Perhaps only beaten by an F1 V10 or V12 imo. Another great video and this is an awesome must have pack to add to the other ACL packs they've done. :)

Another great video Jake. I haven't really tried Willow Springs I'll have to give it a go. I've set up an Oval racing series using only Estonia 25 cars racing against the AI. 15 minutes practice and quali and 9 lap sprint race. Punted off in the 1st race but somehow scraped 1st place in the next three rounds. One day I might be able to drive as good as you😁

I love it but I have seen a few vids on this and each one calls this a '67. The fender vents are 1965 and 1966 only. In 1967, there were five "gills" and they were angled. 1965 models had vents (well one real vent, one dummy) behind the door windows. They were dropped for 1966. So, this is a 1966 model. I'm not "blaming" anyone I just don;t get where the year is coming from.

I'd have to say that, in some ways, the Bizzarrini is one car that interests me perhaps more than the others, in that it's a European-built machine, but uses that snarling Chevy 327 mounted up front. I should have known this would pop up when i did the search: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iou4ZmBrjKiBmJY I still prefer the look of the 1962-63 Ferrari 250 GTO myself. Now, if we could just get a Proto Pack with the P538.

I got the problem with this mod - I don't think I am slow driving guy and I am pushing this cars to the limit but AI is so fast that I can't catch the leaders - even if I lower their strength to minimum (which is 80%). Not sure if this is right. I am driving F1 1967 cars or 1962 and they are way harder than this GTCs and I can keep up with them with 100% strength. GTC - no way.
