...it's more like a facelift of the Camaro that featured in the first transformers...only with the updated tech like those squiggly lined DRLs. In all honesty, some originals just can't be redone...no matter how many ways you could poke around its corners for perfection. It'd be inevitable to assume vehicle design today has reached its aesthetic dead end regarding conventionality. No matter how many lines you tweak on current cars, it's still the same shape format that had been done during the golden age of automotive history. That's why designers are now trying to find new shapes that'd pave way to change the perspective of viewing the notion of personal transport...shapes that'd be symbiotic with next gen of powertrain system which is not ICE. & It's already happening today, with the use of radiator grilles replaced with parametric surfacing in EVs. Thus the original use of a grille becomes vestigial or non functional. In some distant timeline of this century, cars may take a new form that'd replace the transparent greenhouse with solid dome, having real time displays inside for the occupants...part semi or full autonomous (Audi A9 concept as a reference). In the far future...maybe electromagnetic levitation, causing the need of wheels to disappear...making the car look more like an aircraft fuselage with no wings.

The original at 15:33 looks like it's either tired or fed up with the world or it has postman's eyes (the term we use for cross-eyed people so they can read the envelope and the address at the same time). The redesign however looks like it's just woken up with a hunger that only Mustangs can fill. Too bad the norm nowdays seems to be: -car manufacturer makes a nice model -people buy it -car manufacturer improves the model -more people buy it -car manufacturer makes it hideous -less and less people buy it -car manufacturer introduces crap nobody asked for without doing market research -the model is even less successful -"Ok it's clearly the market's fault, they simply don't want this type of vehicle, therefore we're ending production." -it gets replaced by an SUV -soccer moms only buy it for cheap, reliable transportation
