Is renegade a company that does mounts for the ls so it fits a boxter? And is that the standard transmission also? I'd love to see this car but unfortunately I'm in the uk so no chance unfortunately but great work. Absolutely love it

Thanks Christopher, hope all is good in the UK! Yes Renegade Hybrids supplied the mounts although there may be others doing it now. A good custom fabrication shop could easily make them. I did a write up on 986forums with pictures etc there. Good luck!

How much is the transmission flange
@random8164 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to the axle spacers? They are Porsche factory spacers for the 996 Tiptronic transmissions so you can look up the part number on a Porsche diagram and shop around, but I think around $75-$100 but you may be able to find them used for less~ Good luck!

@@random816 i was referring to the transmission and engine adapter. Id like to build everything myself. Im good at welding. And Those thousands of dollars kit i cant afford. Its just outrageous. Im not into high end hp anyway. A good stock ls will do the work for me.
@random8164 жыл бұрын
@@orlanmedina3693 Ahhh gotcha~ That is made by Kennedy Engineering Products or KEP. The whole kit is expensive but they may be able to sell you just the adapter, I would guess $1500 or so but give them a call - great people. www.kennedyeng.com

what state is your shop in?

I am located in Georgia but don't actually have a shop. I was working at a Porsche restoration shop when I built this car.

What is horse power of it now?
@random8167 жыл бұрын
It is a LS376-480 crate motor from Chevy, basically a 2013 Corvette motor with the optional GM "hot cam" which adds 50 HP so it makes 480 horsepower with the "stock" tune. I have thought about having it dyno tuned by the guys at LSXperts who are not to far from me (They just set the 1/2 mile corvette world record @ 229 MPH), and can probably safely get another 50+ HP out of it.

Doesn't look like you have room for a harmonic damper either, could be the camera angle. Check out the other Porsche swaps at LS1 Tech. Here's my 2003 996 LS3. ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1623630-2003-porsche-996-c4s-ls3-conversion-7.html

Aren't there smaller engines like the Ford Coyote 5.0 412 HP crate that would be less of a fitment nightmare? It seems that you have cut away so much from the body that the lack of stiffness would be an issue once it is moving under full power.
