Chevy Lumina Heater/ Heat Fix

I found this to be the solution to the heater problem in my own 97 Lumina!! I had read the manual and ran this exact procedure about two days ago and found that indeed my heater/cooling system are operating on such a higher level than before! I am still not convinced that my water pump is not the issue, but only time will tell! Nice video dude....

Excellent video, thanks so much! We has just replaced the water pump and gasket in our 1998 Lumina as it was leaking and then discovered we had no heat. Saw your video, followed the instructions and bam! we had heat in the car. Thank you so much for your help!

Ok, I just happened upon this video after I had changed out my water pump and those did not say to bleed the coolant lines. I did what you said and it was a short time after I did this and it was right up and going again! THANKS a ton for this video!

thanks , that's exactly what i Wan to do, but in my equinox, you can open the cap were you add the antifreeze like 20 time , turn on and of the car and open were yiu add the antifreeze and you'll se alot of big bubbles coming put and then your air heat will come out very nice hot

The problem might be you have a dog stuck in the engine? Did you ever have a coolant lose problem with this engine? Heard loose lower intake manifold bolts and or bad gasket, and or dex-cool antifreeze eating gasket could be issues causing leaking of coolant into oil, intake, exhaust or externally.

so I have a 1994 olds cutlass ciera 3.1 and after I had the pump replaced the heater seems to be pulling air in from the outside..should it do this. I had great heat before hand..

i just hope you completely,drain the and flushed the orange color dex cool from factory or you will mix the green color anti freeze,with Dex cool ,which in long run create sludge and you will have no heat issue ,plugged up radiator and more

There's a good 105 Chevy Uplander Savannah has a V6 in it the radiator was changed in before the rain never changed it had heat now all the sudden has no heat in the front Heating curious what the problem is

What do you have to remove to get to the thermostat? I wasn't able to get the secon bolt out to change it..

OUr Chevy Lumina changes from cool air to hot air coming out of vents and fogging up windows. White mist comes out of AC vents. Would bleeding help that?

Sounds like a bad leaking heater core , when windows fog up With vapor when heater is on.

I have a 97 Lumina. The low coolant light is on. The plastic reservoir is full. The car overheats when I drove it a few blocks. Is it the thermostat?

lovinmytunes05 also make sure there's radiator fluid in the radiator. The fluid in the radiator should never be low. About the thermostat you have a hose the goes from the radiator to the thermostat. Then you have a return hose that goes back to the radiator. If the return hose is cold when the car reaches normal operation temperature then it means either the thermostat is shuck shut or the water pump isn't doing it's job most of the time it's the thermostat. I know people who boil there thermostat after they buy one to make sure they open correctly before installing. A lot of people put faulty thermostats in their cars because they didn't check them. It's seems this is a common thing. I know a repair guy that got 3 bad thermostats in a roll. If you are losing radiator fuild try to watch where it leaks. You can also have a pressure test done on the radiator and you should be able to find the leak. Sometimes the radiator can be rusted out, a hose somewhere could be leaking, could be leaking around the water pump, heater coil could be leaking, or a head gasket is giving away. I heard the safest thing to put into your radiator is pepper. You can buy some at the auto store

One problem. NEVER use green antifreeze in a DEX-COOL engine. You will have bigger problems than no heat.

I changed the coolant. Now the air conditioner will not blow cold. I just recharged the air also. will bleeding the coolant fix that, I doubt it but if anyone knows would be a big help.

Same problem. I know the compressor still works, Thank Goodness. But no cold air. Recharged it and still, nothing. Luckily i don't really like to use AC that much in the summer anyway but It would be great to get it working again. I will look into next spring if I can't find a solution elsewhere

Shouldn't you be using DEXCOOL instead of regular green anti-freeze? Should be orange colored, not green.

it is not heater resistor ,it is called fan resistor,when they go bad you always have high speed of fan,but not the slower speed, that is job of resistor,
