I had suspected the stupid thing was under the throttle body. This confirms it.

anyone know of a vid that has the start to finish?

Some folks literally need to see each part removed properly. Trying to explain parts all over doesn't help the mechanical inept.

I think I mention that, if I don't I do in other rushed videos but my idea is to help out people who know what they are doing.

Thanks man. Thanks for cutting out the cats dogs and kittens. Did you drain the coolant prior to opening up anything?
@TheCraftyTech2 жыл бұрын
yes remove the radiator cap and open the drain on the radiator at the bottom corner of the rad under the hood. probably passenger side, maybe not.

They sell them brand new at some auto part stores. I think it's called a thermostat wrench. Also online

Why didn’t you show the removal of the parts in the way? Not very helpful.

To somebody with a little experience this give you everything you need, 90% of my viewers are in that category,

I think it is easier to just pull the motor. Once you have it up out of the engine bay, it is easy to come at the thermostat from the back. What a stupid design my '92 Sunbird was the EASIEST!

My daily driver is built with 1960’s technology. A thermostat is a 20 minute job.

Why is it so more complicated on the 3.1 to the 3.8

Uncle Tony has some pretty good rants on it. But as automakers hav progressed they’ve purposely made cars harder and harder to maintain. It forces you to lick the boot of the dealership.

The goal in this video was to mention every single step as fast as possible for people who are on the job, When your at work nothing is more annoying than a long video for a short job.

I re watched it and yeah I agree, however I did mention every single step and tricks to get through any common struggles. the first thing I said is this is for the mechanically inclined, this is not a good video for a noob to go take on this job, The video is intended to be a quick pull up at work when you just need to know how hard the job is when your getting into it. Me being a mechanic that works in a shop this is exactly what I would prefer,
