Chicago Athletic Club was a good call, as was Kriskindlmarkt. But on your next visit, try to get out of downtown and into the neighborhoods like : Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Roscoe Village and Andersonville. On the South Side, check out the Prarie Avenue district, Pilsen, Chinatown, and Bridgeport. Also, Chicago Thin Crust pizza!! (It outsells stuffed by 10 to 1 in Chicago).

Gordon Reiher things to do as a vitisitor or a tourist. You guys shouldve asked a real Chicagoan on what to do, where to eat. You guys liked the deep dish pizza? That's what we call a corporate deep dish. You can find better deep dish pizza. Like pea quads.

I would definitely add catching a show at Second City or IO--Chicago is famous for its comedy, and many comedians on SNL got their start in Chicago. Also, the regular stuffed pizza is something to try and iconic. You should go to the Green Mill--known for slam poetry and for being a fav place of Al Capone and the Chicago mobsters.

I love Chicago -- So far, it's the US city that *feels* the most like Toronto to me (except they are much better at restoring and maintaining their historic buildings, heehee!) Still need to try a deep dish pizza there though :X Loved this video!

If you love the outdoors! Chicago has a perfect forest reserves and parks to check out! Here my Top 5 I recommend from a local’s point of view: 1. Lakeshore Trail (Must ride trail that goes along Lake Michigan and The Loop to Museum of Science and Industry) 2. Lincoln Park (Nice Park with a rich History , a large lagoon and the free forever Lincoln Park Zoo) 3.Bloomingdale Trail aka The 606( a train track turned into a Park. A great way to explore our neighborhoods like Wicker Park and Humboldt) 4.North Shore Branch Trail( A nice trail and forest reserve that runs from Chicago to Chicago Botanic Gardens. Try Superdawg along the way ) 5.North Shore Channel Trail ( Different from the North Branch and part a sculpture park and bike/runner friendly trail that runs from Chicago’s North Park neighborhood to Evanston. I recommend going a extra mile to Baha’i Temple!)

Definitely an observation I had made as well. We don't don't preserve our buildings the same way, and there were a lot more cultural institutions to visit in Chicago. But to be fair, they both had the same chill/boringness to them. I think there's a lot more to explore once you really dig in to the local scene (Chicago and Toronto)

If you go to the Hancock building, 100% just go to the signature lounge. Same views, no entry charge. Tell them you’ll wait for a window seat, it’s totally worth it. Your drinks will be expensive, but service is slow and so you can sit there for hours while only paying for 1-2 drinks a person.

You'll be fine with public transportation + occasional taxi or ride-share. I wouldn't want to deal with a car, to be honest. 3 days is good! We did our trip in a day and a half, really. If you're just interested in the main attractions, 3 days will give you more time to explore the museums. We were pretty rushed. Have fun and let us know how you liked it!

Since I’m young and most of my life is all based from Chicago, touring downtown is something more like a daily stroll. Thanks for the view of a “foreigner”! ( I recommend going to Humboldt Park and Ukrainian Village! I personally think Papa’s Cache Sabroso’s food is delicious. Not what Chicago is known for but still very good!)
