It's realistic though... you need poor people if you want to have a pool of workers for your Egyptian sweat shops, and poor people don't live in wealthy nice neighborhoods.

It's honestly painful how inattentive folks on this channel are (not only in the case of this video or Sseth content, just in general) "when was this game made?" **Which was mentioned legitimately a few seconds prior*. *Sseth explaining an ancient Egyptian religious story after making a comment about the ancient Egyptian religion being colorful** "What's going on? This is the story of the game? I'm so confused how we got here from a video about a city building game". Like, granted this is an average Sseth vid with fast audio and visual transitions but it shouldn't be this difficult to follow what's going on, lol.

I played this game as a kid, did some of the first tutorial missions of the campaign, then picked a custom map with lots of resources and no combat and just tried to build a city with something cool in it, never succeeded though. Nowadays I just listen to the game's soundtrack on shuffle and do not try to play it again.

Okay, not a video recommendation. But here's a game I think you would like, Kit. There's a game series called "Tropico". I would recommend getting "Tropico 3" or "Tropico 4" and try it out. The game basically puts you in the shoes of a "presidante" of a Caribbean country - "Tropico". And you're allowed to rule the country anyway you like. It's a mix of city builder + country simulator + corrupt politician simulator. Your goal isn't just to rule the country but also secure enough funds in your Swiss Account so your character can retire comfortably when his term is over. Of course, you could manipulate the country's domestic and foreign policies, rigging the country's election system to prolong your reign. If you wanna play a game that allows you to be an evil dictator / corrupt leader of a nation, the Tropico series is your game.

Love Kira and Kit for Sseth, they really engage with the shenanigans! For future Sseth reviews, consider: - Kenshi: short video, alien game, lots of content to react to, easily explained game mechanics. also everyone wants it - Crusader Kings 2: medium length video, a lot more content for the history-lover Kit to comment on. no technical dive into game mechanics, so that's a plus for general commentary. - Endless Space 2: a bit lengthy, but a lot of colorful factions, and very heavy explanation of the mechanics. pretty good as a technical review. - Morrowind: D E E P E S T L O R E

you can only be slightly corrupt, too much corruption will be punished. if you dont want a slum in your city you can hide a single house plot in range and that gives places access to the entire population. archers are total trash but easy to mass produce. so, the story of that myth was one of the tamer version. ancients got wild and no one tried to stop them because it was one wild ride no one knew how to get off.
