At least Antonio and Sam WERE involved and at the very least partly to blame. First raw chicken was definitely picked up and brought to the pass by Sam, with Alex standing behind with a confused look. Second raw chicken, that got them kicked out, was brought by Alex himself in a hurry after Antonio was running around and screaming like a headless chicken 'i need the chicken! I need the chicken! NOW! I need the chicken, hurry up, NOW!' and some other guys (didn't see if Trenton was involved in that) fell in and pressured Alex into rushing.

Getting to the bottom of Chicken Gate. First raw chicken, Sam walked Alex's chicken. We don't know if he touched the actual chicken to check if it was cooked because we don't see him doing it, just walking it - but we can assume from the edit and his apology that he didn't. He only picked the plate up and brought it to the pass. Second raw chicken, Alex actually got help from Trenton who said this needs to be in the oven for 9 minutes. Then we don't know what happened. We only see Alex walking the chicken to the pass. In order to know the full story for sure, we need the Hell's Kitchen Served Raw Uncut and Unfiltered Full Service.

Alex should have gone if only for the fact, he was blaming everyone in his team before taking responsibility himself. Chef asked him more than three times who told him the chicken was fine and he gave 3 different answers. That is the sort of thing you expect from a 6 year old child.

But Jay’s 2 bad performances outweighed Alex’s issues here. At this point, Alex had one bad service, Jay had 2, and couldn’t get the garnish right, that outweighed getting rid of Alex but Alex’s mistakes outweighed Jay’s here.

Alex was outrageous here I mean just take responsibility for your dish man for crying out loud BUT Jay went for me because garnish imo is the most important station in HK because your not just heating up veg, your keeping track of what's being fired ticket wise and you have to be ahead of Meat and Fish as far as the pass is concerned. Its basically a test of your communication and leadership skills its why Adam failed in HK19 against Marc which didn't go down well here but he failed on garnish and the same happened to Jay here combine that with his struggles in the first service where he served raw Salmon before entrees were called out he and Peyton for that matter got very lucky that they were In the same kitchen as Matthew who was a complete waste of space in fact a waste of a slot in the competition he was that out of his depth it was a very easy choice

This was a terrible decision by Ramsay. He punished the ONE guy on the whole team who took responsibility for his mistakes. He just sent the lesson that the way to stay in the game is to sweep your mistakes under the rug, pass the buck to someone else, and just never ever fess up. Alex should have been booted for refusing to take responsibility for his dish AND for trying to play the blame game. Stuff like this is proof that Gordon doesn't always know what's best.
