I just lost my mother in November and have been in a complete depression since. Cooking with my mother growing up is a fond memory for me. My mother was the best cook. This past year I have not been cooking as much because I’m a nurse at a hospital and I’ve been too mentally fatigued to even want to cook. Since the loss of my mother I have been struggling to find happiness again. I recently found your videos on KZbin and you inspired me to get in the kitchen more to cook your recipes. Being in the kitchen reminds me of all the happy times I had with my mother and helps bring me some peace. Thank you for all you do.

My wife and I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate everything that you do. Your KZbin channel was recommended to me in the Spring, right about the time we had to start working from home due to the pandemic. As I started watching your videos I started thinking, “This looks easy enough to make. Let’s try it.” The first thing I made was your egg frittata, and it was amazing! We look forward to your videos every week. We are able to watch the video during our shared lunch break, and there have been several occasions where we are making your newest video for dinner. So far we have made your egg frittata, steak sandwiches, meatballs (on the smoker - amazing!), chicken pot pie, garlic knots, the garlic bread stuffed crust pizza, the one pan chicken mexican skillet dinner, the mcrib, the candied bacon, the burger with onion tanglers, and cilantro lime rice. We recently took delivery of your newest cookbook and your entire knife collection. We tried the knives the other night and they are amazing. We absolutely adore them. Due to all the cooking it is a constant struggle to keep my kitchen clean, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I’ve used my kitchen more in the last few months because I’m making your recipes than I have in years. I just wish I had a bigger kitchen so I could have more room to make your delicious recipes. Thank you for all that you do. #samsgiving2020 #andnowwemix

Small kitchen - me too - just adds to the your dedication. Good job with making all those recipes. I'm tossing up about getting the knives. How are they for sharpening?
@trevormerivale68823 жыл бұрын
Good on you mate! Sometimes all we need is some inspiration to see things are actually in reach. Food is life, and it's fantastic that you are broadening your cooking skills and giving it a crack. You will probably be more likely to "take risks" modifying recipes to suit you and your wife and have more fun with it all 👍
@stevewoolhiser72492 жыл бұрын
@@pennyk2798 Butcher here. Any knife can be sharpened. Even a cheap one. Here's what's up. A blade needs to be maintained, yes. But what actually happens is that the blade itself folds over on a level that the human eye can't see after a certain amount of use. A blade "sharpener" actually just grinds down the blade, and makes it sharp again, in a coarse fashion. Steeling the blade is what you see on cooking shows and stuff. All they are doing is leveling out the microscopic folding that the knife blade has suffered through being used, and working out the fine bits of steel that were ground out by the sharpener.

I like Me a good pot pie. When I was 15 I worked at Strotbacks bay club in Margate City NJ. for a summer as a dishwasher. The Head chef made a chicken pot pie for the staff a few times, and it was so incredible. Thanks for this recipe.

I am a big fan of your show and your cooking. Bought your cookbook and made some of the recipes and they were amazing. I am definitely going to make this, looks amazing. I'm originally from San Diego but the Army took me elsewhere but I'm in AZ now and make it back there to see friends and family as much as I can. I love to cook and will someday have an outdoor kitchen similar to yours< I love how yours is set up. Thanks for the inspiration.
