China helps Croatia build 600-million-dollar bridge, connecting mainland with coastal regions

Chinese constructers helped build a bridge connecting Croatia's mainland and the Peljesac peninsula, a 600 million dollars project which started four years ago, and it is still not quite done yet.
Transportation experts in Croatia think this project is a win-win for all the participating parties, but perhaps more for the people of the Peljesac peninsula of Croatia, who won't need to cross the state borders, in and out of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to get to Croatia's mainland.

As regards to the bridge in HK, the British has tried to finish all the HK foreign reserve at the time (before they leave HK), by employing British designers instead of the best one at the time and wasting on designs & materials (just the steel wires used can go around the globe 4 times) that were not necessary.

interestingly.. Croatian president wants the country to block Finland and Sweden NATO membership.. Reason being their constant opposition to Croatian interests in Bosnia, I believe over the lack of voting power of Bosnian Croats or something. Back to this bridge, Bosnia was super against the building of this bridge. So your comment can actually be entertained in a bizarre but not impossible scenario.

It is not an aid from China. Several international companies from Austria, Turkey and Italy applied to build this bridge, and the competition was won by a Chinese company because it provided the lowest financial costs. The bridge was built with European money, stop lying.

ShanghaiEye ! You have very conveniently failed to inform who is paying the 600 hundred billion for building the bridge and who is benefiting 'now' from building the bridge . With so much uncertainty in the world now one cannot assume that the benefits projected upon the completion of bridge will come to fruition . The world doesn't run on the same time table as when the transatlantic submarine cables were laid . You can make anything sound good by omitting the important details that make a project successful . All the beautiful bus stops built on a bus route only for the transport companies to decide later that it is not practical nor profitable . I am sure that you have even heard of airports being built that are not listed as a destination by any Airlines .

This bridge is a political project, it is an economical folly financed by EU (85%). The population of southern part of Croatia that will be served by this bridge is very small, less than 100,000. Croatia could have spent the EU money much wiser on something that would actually generate economic activity. Instead, the bridge will be a maintenance money pit for years to come with no income from tolls.
