As a missile carrier platform this is great news for China, and bad news for AUKUS and the collective west, and that 10,000kg payload is pretty impressive for a single engined airframe. The YJ-21 is around the same weight as an Iskandar-M (4,610kg), so this aircraft might be able to carry two YJ - 21's, which would pose a real, effectively un-stoppable threat to any surface combatants

In combat you have to not get killed, whatever operations are performed it has to be effective, and to get winning results you need brains and common sense, and not power hungry war mongers. So, would it be possible to use 10,000 cheap drones each fitted with different types of weapons accordingly and do this as needed? if is yes, than whoever can do this in war it would be a stronger deterrence than any nukes. This massive swarms of weaponized drones would be the single cheapest, capable, and most scary weapon of war which will also protect soldier lives and end wars quickly. Can you imagine 10k buzzing drones coming at your town and what that would do to people psych.

I hope china debuts hypersonic missiles . Hypersonic cruise missiles to be exact. I understand hcms need scramjet which is complicated and they don't have as much as velocity and range as missiles with hypersonic glide vehicles. They are expensive complex and difficult to make and execute and they have less speed. However I still would like to see china with hcms . All China has are hypersonic ballistic missiles and ballistic missiles with hgvs . Russia has all types - hcms,hgvs with carrier ballistic missiles and modified hypersonic ballistic missiles . I di know china is testing the xingkong 2 hcm but I have not seen any updates and results from that. China is working on hypersonic vehicles as well and is still at the forefront of hypersonic technologies. I hope to see hcms at this airshow. It would suck if it isn't but then I will have to wait until next year.

I was wondering if china will build off the pl 15 or other related missile with long range and hypersonic speeds for air to air combat. So basically I am looking at the expansion and proliferation of hypersonic missile in different roles and different serial missiles in the pla . We have several programs exactly like this, some technology demonstrators, some canceled projects like x-47b, and some still in production like the rq-180!! In fact we’ve retired systems just like this with the rq-170 which is no doubt how China got this tech, bought it from a drone over ten years old they spoofed and landed.
