Isn't she phenomenal?! In an interview Chincilla explained that this song is about her leaving her label and going independent. All those layers and harmonies are her, she does everything from the songwriting, vocals, beats, production, and hell she even makes her own outfits for her performances and videos. I know everyone will ask for "Fingers" live (& understandably so, it's an amazing live capture).... but I'm here to represent for her "Elements" lyric vid (it's more than just a lyric vid tho- you'll see what I mean!) She probably recorded ~30 vocal tracks for "Elements" which she dips in & out of to build most of the harmony thru the track. I'm a sucker for the harmonic minor "middle-eastern" flavour she went with for it, her choice of mildly-distorting 808 bass drones feel ominousAF, & her lead vocal line never gets boring with her masterful use of quietLOUD dynamics, & is *dripping* attitude.... what's not to love?! ;)

Came here to comment this. ELEMENTS is hands down my favorite Chinchilla song. Its musically so different and builds to such an epic hook...and it is THE ANTHEM for every woman I've shared this song with. Reminds me of formation by Beyonce. I dont know why because musically it is very different, but for some reason it just reminds me of that vibe.

I can't believe you haven't done this one yet! She is an absolute force and she's here to be reckoned with. She produced this herself. I'm pretty obsessed with how she layered her vocals. Her live version of her song Fingers is mind blowing. Her vocal control is second to none. Her song Elements is also outstanding. I'm waiting for her to have her moment, because it's going to be huge.

I truly believe music is therapeutic- and I like to listen to fingers and then little girl gone back to back- it might not be about domestic abuse- but for someone who left an abusive relationship mental and violent- the lyrics speak to me very deeply as my personal interpretation- a year after fleeing with the kids and starting the battle with my narcissist ex in courts- I listen to this song before I have to go to the lawyer or prepare to read his emails- even if she didn’t intend it for domestic abuse- it is my battle anthem

Yes, spot on with both Kingsman (pub scene) and Sia (slightly raspy edge and occasional 'yodel' to her voice). It really is an epic, anthemic sound - _self-produced,_ and released independently - which is an extraordinary achievement. There's lots of plug-ins for vocal chops. Were you thinking of Output by Exhale? Quite a few artists do them manually too.

And that fact the she left her label and management and published this as her independent debut ("hold my earrings for my debut") even though she had to be, I quote, "sitting through meetings being told not to release this song as a single because it's too left-field and people won't like it" plays so well into the theme of the song.
