That's super clever. I'm sure it'd be amazing in a char siu bao or baked buns. Or on top of stir fried noodles. I think I might make Filipino barbecue with jackfruit & seitan. Thanks for the inspo!

I usually take the seeds out of my jackfruit but that actually looks like small bones you see in sone Asian style ribs. Super cool.

Nate Johnson you can also boil the seeds and taste just like potato and beans combined 😊

Thanks. The recipe seems simple and affordable with great results. Now I know how to use my jackfruit. I will try to seitan method with half pea protein powder. I appreciate that.

What I was trying to say is this looks to be the most meat-looking vegan ribs I've ever seen. I have a friend who has made vegan ribs before, and they were great, but a professional chef just posted a video to show how to do it better 😅

Pretty funny that the “chicken” flavour most of the world think they know, is actuay derived from a fungus. Go yeast extract :D!

Could you replace the soy with vital wheat gluten and chickpea flour? I have had that combo in the past and it was good.

I keep coming back to this video trying to figure out what mixing half seitan with half soy protein means. Like mix vital wheat gluten and protein powder? Or actually mixing in a seitan dough into the powder/jackfruit mixture.

I noticed in the description that the Amazon link to the soy protein is for soy protein isolate. Do you think it would matter if protein _isolate_ or protein _concentrate_ was used, or not?
