I don't think that the speed of water as the reason for bringing calamity to Indian territory is correct. First, the river water is flowing through valleys being slowed down due friction by the floorand sides of the valley. So even when this water enters India the water speed is not likely to be catastrophically high. Second, the flow in Arunachal is confined to a narrow swath due to flow in valley. So the destruction will not be huge. Third, the dams will be in series (tandem on the same river). So even if the water is released simultaneously from all dams, it will have to pass through the sluice gates of the downstream dams, which can allow a certain amount of waterflow, preventing any immensly catastrophic deluge to be caused. Fourth, only 31% of Brahmaputras rainwater comes from Tibet. Rest od the water is added downstream in India. Fifth, the main cause of devastation in such scenario would be from flooding in the plains. Last, since war here is likely to be fought only after monsoons, if they let go off all the stored water, their electricity generation will be hit badly. I dont think that they would do it.

Bangladesh is suffering Floods in Moonson and Drought in Winter just because of So many Indian Dams on Shared Rivers. One the worst is in case of Teesta and Farakkha Dam. Though Bangladesh receives some water from Ganga which is through Farakkha Dam but Due to Mamata Banerjee's stand still, Bangladesh is deprived of Teesta water for so many years. 7:49 "if china releases all the stored water from its dams on the Brahmaputra.." IF, as china says, they are all "run of river" type dams there will be no stored water to release. Also, i'm thinking that once completed it will be very easy to verify what type of dam each one is through satellite imagery wouldn't it? no reservoir = no significant water storage possible also wondering if Indian downstream water flow data could be used (when each dam complete) to identify if any of the dams were in fact storing water?

Now, I hope India will feel the pain Nepal is going through when India has blocked the Koshi dam. Each year during mansoon when there is a plenty of water in Koshi river, India will block the wall of the dam causing the water from the river to accumulate in Nepal side. The result is an inundation of Nepalese land by Koshi river. During winter, when there is a scarcity of water, India opens the dam causing all the water to flow through the river, leaving very little water for Nepal. It is the time India should realize how it bullies its weaker neighbors. Now China is doing the same thing.

For certain Chinese control over Glacial water portion (from Himalaya 's) but monsoon water (India 's portion) for Arunanchal and Assam always collectively came from the SKY/Rainfall to the VAST low-lying Plain, not from northern Glacier melting. Eg Mekong region always complaining that draught and seasonal mismatch of rising/lowering water was (suspiciously) due to stolen water of Chinese dams. But suddenly after misfortune heavy Rain for some weeks, the whole lower River (laos & Thai border) were subjected to flooding and unusual Rise if Mekong..!! Chinese suddenly open the watergate.?? Not at all, it's just regional monson that irrelevant to the far North cumulation. How far-away considered isolation of the land of rainfall cumulation.. i guess 1,500 km is far enough of separation. In case of Arunanchal & Assam whose downstream distance is far far away from that critical River U-turning point (that reservoir going to be accumulated).. the local monsoon already been critical to flood the whole lower region, both assam and Bengal. Holding or prolonged flood from northern Glacier will rather prevent the surplus water not to exaggerate the monsoon effect more over. Looking on better cooperation, they are not enemy of stealing but free- investment of free-giving dams plus Extra water for both Chinese and Bengal (& Assam)people to use in dry time.. 63,000 MW power will be more for both China and Bhutan & Bengal (whether India want it or not).
