The Zeekr X, Volvo EX30 & Smart #1 are all built on the same platform. I bought the Smart #1 Brabus which is 50/50 partnership between Mercedes and Geely back in October here in the UK and love it. The best looking of the three is the Zeekr however it was not available yet in the UK and who will look after it. At least with the Smart you have Mercedes main dealer support for servicing and the 8 year warranty.

100% US tariff on Chinese EVs now confirmed. Agree this means China will focus on other markets that are not protecting their rival auto industries. Green trade wars sound bad, but one upside I read about is the rest of the world will get bargain EVs and solar panels from China, who must find buyers or see huge business collapses in its green sector. Xi probably won't want that on top of the property crisis there.

The question shouldn't be whether Zeekr is the next Tesla, but rather is the Geely group in general the next Tesla. Big Geely news that has largely been ignored is that they are rolling out their own liquid-cooled, 450KW charging network (Lotus Flash Charge). Also they are planning to work with Nio on possible battery swap tech.

Dude I watch your videos occasionally as you are always pretty spot on but WTH man with presenting the wrong stock price of Polestar. Their price is trading at $1.30 not 0.15. You should know that! The ticker symbol is PSNY. I will also say this, I am a Brit living in Gothenburg and Polestars are everywhere. I honestly believe even if the stock doesn't perform to its potential, the company and brand will be around in 10 years. The cars are so much better than Tesla's if we are talking about aesthetics and the car drives well. Their new lineups will boost sales definitely. Zeeker is a cool car but the brand will not be strong globally. Not like Polestar anyway.

Seeker’s story is pretty different to Polar, which Zeeker is originally from Chinese domestic market and it has quite large users group and fans in the China domestic market. Polar is very different animal, maybe their product is more luxury, but I don’t think its user or fans are firm enough.

Zeekr is not in France yet. But I bought the Smart #3 that is kind of the same model than Zeekr X (same platform, same battery, same charging curve, same tech, ...) but with a better design (subjective, personal preference). The Smart #3 already feels pretty premium to me, I guess I'll have to book a test of a Zeekr once they come to France to check the difference. I wouldn't invest in Zeekr right now because I think it's above it's value. Geely group is really bad at communication (at least in France), nobody knows their brands. They have great cars like the "Smart" brand, but they don't sell because nobody knows about them. I only knew about them because I did my geek research (like going through the EuroNCAP listings) before setting my mind on some cars, with the Smart #3 being the clear winner. But I'm definitely keeping an eye out for Zeekr.

If China invades Taiwan, oil prices will soar. China will be buying mountains of oil from Russia and will spike oil prices worldwide. Japan will also go on an oil buying spree to prepare for possible hostilities. In the US, $8/gal could happen pretty quickly. American EV makers better prepare for big demand if things go sideways in the China Sea.

Given the fierce price war between the EV manufacturers at the moment, I would only consider buying an EV from Tesla, BYD or an EV from one of the legacy auto makers. There are plenty of interesting EVs being made in China, but given that most of these EV makers are likely to collapse, I don't want to end up with an orphaned car with no manufacturer support.
