@@johnnysmile01 The SU7 just had perhaps the most hyped car launch in recent memory. Early reviews have been very positive, which is surprising since this is literally Xiaomi's very first try at making a car. BAIC can only make like 100,000 units a year in the new factory and that sold out within HOURS of the SU7 being launched. I believe they picked up over 120,000 deposits within 24 hours of it going on sale. More sporty and not as cheap or roomy as the 007, but the hype was real for the SU7. Also, if one is considering the 007, maybe just go with its sister car the Geely Galaxy E8 instead, which also looks quite nice and is even cheaper.

I been driving my friend's top spec 001 (and I own a tesla model 3 performance) Frunk: yes, but very small. One pedal: Yes, but not as smooth as tesla. Range efficiency: Roughly the same as my tesla, but it's got a 100wh battery vs 70 on my tesla, so it's got much more range. side notes: The acceleration I've tested is the same as my tesla, 0-100km both clocked at around 3.6s. Handling is only slightly worse than the tesla because it's way bigger. but quality of life inside the 001 beats the crap out of the tesla, auto closing doors, headup display, much larger interior space, a voice assistant that works really well (especially comparing to the retard in my tesla) and much more. And it costs only about 40,000CNY ($5k usd) more than the tesla, I think the gap is even smaller now after zeekr dropping its price by 30k.

It kinda seems like because you're now directly involved in exporting Chinese cars you're going shy on offering constructive criticisms as you have a vested interest in not pissing them off. Potential owners want to know the features and positives of the vehicle but they want the bad as well so they can make an informed decision. Anyway thanks for the reviews, just my thoughts.

Thanks for the video! Is there any group of Chinese EV makers jointly developing full self driving system ?

The only autonomous driving system used by multiple EV makers is Huawei, which is also considered the best in the market. Baidu's system is also very good, but mostly geared towards autonomous taxi services. Many carmakers themselves have developed proprietary systems, such as Xpeng, Nio, Li Auto, Geely, and even the new Xiaomi. Amongst those Xpeng is considered the best I think, but not quite as good as Huawei. BYD is furthest behind in self driving tech, but I suspect might catch up fast because BYD has so much more money and resources compared to these other smaller carmakers.

@@tren133 if they unified their effort into a single system, we would get to FSD much quicker

@@jfbaro2 Perhaps, but the current highly fragmented Chinese automotive manufacturing landscape is at least partly by design. You would think it is a waste of money for the Chinese government to throw out all these subsidies for a good 10 plus years now, to literally 100 companies, all trying to do the same thing, and most will go bankrupt. Which is already happening now, such as HiPhi and Evergrande's EV unit. But the Chinese government seems to believe competition is more important for advancement, even if most of these companies eventually go under. It is for this very reason that unlike all previous foreign carmakers, Tesla was the first to be granted the ability to wholly own its Chinese operations, no Chinese domestic joint venture partners required. The government did this basically to tell their own domestic automakers to compete with Tesla on EVs or die trying. Many will go under, but just in these past 5 years you can see the cream rise to the top and you end up with actual highly competitive automakers from all sorts of backgrounds, state-owned like SAIC and Changan, private like BYD and Geely, startups like Li Auto and Xpeng, and even consumer electronic companies like Huawei and Xiaomi, become legit Tesla competitors. Very interesting move by the Chinese government some years back, but seems to be paying dividents for sure.
