Many students are confused about the three Chinese structural particles “的de”, “得de” and “地de”. They are pronounced the same but used differently. In today’s Mandarin lesson we’re going to explain the different uses of them.

的 is a pronoun...A major trick...Put the detailed info before the noun....I learn new ways every day..🤗🤗 Second 得。。Associated to a verb...But places after the verb...地。。Adverb or an adjective...But placed before the subject .. Can you address the use of the following. "是。。。。。。。的"。 An I understand that you can drop the "是“ in a sentence when you use “的” at the end of the sentence. Why. Why use it in the first place if you can do without it. An what is the rule of when to include it and when to drop "是“ The other question why use ”:的“ at the end of the sentence when you say in this video its placed after the noun, not at the end of the sentence.

得 obviously. I still dont quite understand though the difference between 得 and 地 as a function. I mean, why not saying "他很好地打篮球" ?

"他[...地]打篮球。" can describes his attitude or mood on playing basketball. Eg. 他很认真地(seriously)打篮球。他很快乐地(happily)打篮球。"很好地" is not clear about his attitude or mood. But "打篮球打得很好"is a clear evaluation on how well he plays basketball.
