I am loving the new style of your vlog, Luke. The drone shots were spectacular indeed. The People's Assembly hall standing there amid the Sprawling skyscrapers gave an altogether a new dimension, kind of an old- wordly vibe to it. To me the bubbling, boiling hotpot looked threatning but how brave of you, Luke, to have dunked the skewers right into the spicy alarmingly-hot hotpot. I'd like to try some lotus root for sure after your interesting description. Overall, I throughly enjoyed the vid. Also you looked cute in red. FYI- You and Sabrina are so adorable together. 😍😍

Mochi is Japanese. In Chinese it's called different things depends on what it's made into. Both are made the same way except China has been making it for a few thousand more years. That's why there are a lot more ways the Chinese consumes it.

In southern China, it’s also called 煎堆 (jian1dui1). Quite often, they have a red bean filling. Yums! Around the world, you’ll also find them as a staple of most Dim Sum / Yum Cha Chinese restaurants. Highly recommend everyone try one (if u haven’t already)

Those noodles looks so good! I'm jealous haha. I've been searching Kaohsiung for some of that Sichuan cuisine. I found a spot today which was fairly decent and quite spicy, but it didn't come close to being as deep red or hot as what you guys found. You'd think Taiwanese would be all over that! The search continues.

I think in this video, I have seen some foods that I never witnessed before, thank you. One thing I like about you, Luke, is that I always get response from you after my comments. Perhaps, you have less comments as compare to Mark Veins or Food Rangers, who have huge following and they never responded to any of my comments, Although I started following food vlogs after seeing Mark Veins and I am a huge fan of both of them, in fact started following other vlogs including yours after seeing them. I also know that whenever, you have same numbers of subscribers as Mark and Food Rangers, and I wish you have soon, it would be also difficult for you to respond all of the comments. So wishing you best for future, wishing you that you surpass other vloggers for subscribers. Please keep us entertained.

The sesame mochi ball looked SO good! Some of your older videos made me curious about the Sichuan peppercorns, so I ordered some online. Those sesame balls (made from glutinous rice flour) is commonly found in Singapore/Malaysia fried dough food stalls and dim sum places. It's called "jun dui" in Cantonese. Here in SG/Msia you can find fillings like red bean paste, mung bean paste or peanuts. I went Vietnam few years back, they served a gigantic version of it in a Chinese restaurant....a HUGE one for a table of 10 pax LOL.

I'm a native Japanese, but was living there for two years. Attending to university and also worked at some schools or hotel and so on. This video you're as a foreigner, every single shot was incredibly super deep. Everything is Chongqing's real local flavor. Extremely hot never experienced weren't they? Because of the climate, as you know especially that kind of little bit humidity, every local food so spicy. Nice try and you are so brave!! Many thanks for sharing.

Hi Luke, that is a popular dessert you got there that looks like mochi. It is sticky rice ball with mashed black beans or yellow beans inside, then envelope in sesame seeds. It is known as "Buchi" for Chinese restaurants around the world. "Mua Yu" is sesame in Fukien language.
