You're eating the claypot rice wrong. You're not suppose to mix the side and let it form a crust and then eat that. that's basically the best part of the claypot rice.

I can see a lot of work you put in making the videos. I know the stories of each dish because I grew up in China but for foreigners to visit and be able to describe each dish like that, it’s something to applaud for! Keep up the good work!

I love Northern China, but I have to admit the Southern regions have some of the best food, Cantonese style food is one of my favs right next to Sichuan. I loved this video! BTW-Some people when they have steamed rice in clay pots would put water in the bottom let it sit and drink the rice water...I wonder if you guys have heard of them doing that.
@LukeMartin6 жыл бұрын
Never heard of that but sounds interesting, I think cantonese is my favourite Chinese cuisine!
@catholiclawyer6 жыл бұрын
Yes, some people will pour hot water on the bottom. The water brings out the fragrance and flavors of the "burnt" rice.

Love your videos; watch them religiously. Keep up the good work. One factoid: China was never colonized, though Westerners had lived there for some 200 years. And Guangzhou, unlike Shanghai, never had foreign concessions. So “colonial buildings” makes little sense. Maybe you mean where the Western merchants lived? Before the Opium Wars? Or before the establishment of the CCP?

Quick question: why does he always use the word "those" instead of these when the food is right in front of him? English is not my mother tongue by the way
@yewfoolai66516 жыл бұрын
Usually when he describes it he has already eaten it.. hence it has become distant so i assume thats why he uses those instead of these

"Char Siu"-Honey Barbeque Pork is his favorites. He had the buns for dim sum and one in the box. Double Skins Milk is far off from Egg Tarts. He should order Deep Fried Milk during the dim sum that is similar to his dessert. I would order preserved meats for the my clay pot rice.

She hardly touched the chicken feet. Of course there's not much meat, duh. I hardly watch this channel anymore, not knowledgeable. The proper way of tasting the flavour of the food is to sample it first, not shoving everything into your mouth.
